My son James was my first pregnancy at age 31. I felt great during the first trimester with only a couple bouts of mild nausea, however, starting with the 4th month, I gained about 6-8 pounds per month (blamed it on increased calories!). To begin with, I had an awful pregnancy which I think was an indicator as to how my story was going to end.
I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum at 9 weeks, and things went downhill from there. I was constantly sick and vomiting (upwards 15-20 times per day). I had to take prescription Zofran orally, and I.V. Zofran several times per week. At 21 weeks, I started having regular contractions from the constant dehydration. After reading much of the storys posted, I realize I was truly blessed!
When I was about 7 months pregnant, I started seeing spots or what looked liked fireflies flying around in my eyes. I thought it was strange and told my husband. I was 34 wks preg on 10/11/02. The previous week I had been put on bedrest since I was having high bp readings. I was doing ok at it, but i was difficult. I went to the dr on Tues 10/08/02 and she ordered some bloodwork and a 24 hr urine test. Blood work came back

I am 31 yrs old and still do not know or understand what happen to my baby. I am now 3 1/2 weeks post partum so I haven't gotten any autopsy reports back to explain what happen on Oct. 15, 2002.
I was 37 1/2 weeks preganant and went for my routine visit with the hopes of inducing labor because my BP had been elevated , more so over the last 2 months of my pregnancy. I am a 32 year old, healthy, fit woman who exercises, eats right and takes good care of myself. At 25 weeks I went to my doctor for a check up and was told my BP was high. She sent me to the hospital for a day of monitoring. I was then sent home as everything checked out.

HI,,, Im so glad that some people on this board feel the same way I do as far as trying to get over what happened... I got pregnant in October of 2001 after trying for almost a year.. Hi!
I got pregnant at the age of 20. During my 6th month of pregnancy, I started having contractions. I observed it happened every time I got tired. I didn't really discuss it with my OB/GYNE because it didn't happen often but I mentioned it to my husband's aunt who also happened to be a doctor. She advised me to stay in bed. I am not sure why I am writing this other than you do not seem to hear from too many fathers.
I felt that it was important that I speak my mind for every other Father that does not.My wife and I lost our first child. He was born 15 weeks premature and was with us for about 39 hours.

On January 31, 1998 I was hospitalized for
hypertension, I was approximately 27 weeks pregnant.
I was given medication while in the hospital to
maintain a somewhat normal blood pressure while
receiving steroid shots to help better develop by son's
lungs. I remained in the hospital until my son was

This is an update to my previous story.
Shortly after I posted my previous story my condition worsened. My protein levels went up again and my blood pressure soared. I was sent straight to L&D from my doctor's office for complete monitoring and blood work. I was hooked up to an IV for fluids and medication to bring down my pressure.

I went on a family reunion cruise when I was about 22 weeks pregnant. The night of the captain's dinner I had to carry my shoes to dinner because my feet were so swollen.
