I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia in my 8th month of pregnancy, in November of 1974. First they tried bedrest with 5 mg. of phenobarbitol daily; then 10 mg. Finally I was admitted to the hospital on December 11, where I was treated with more phenobarb, morphine and magnesium sulfate. My BP was checked every 15 minutes; and when it would rise above a certain reading, I was given IV pushes of mag sulfate.
