My name is Lisette and I am 36 years old, I reside in New York City. It all started in 1996 when I was just 22 years old, I was working and hardly rested...was stress due to work. At about 24 weeks my body started acting funny. I recall being in the pool and getting these horrible pains around my shoulder and arm. I was rushed to the hospital where later that day I was told that I had preeclampsia. They gave me 3 shots of steroids to help with the babys growth. After being admitted for 1 week I had seizures and the illness progressed to eclampsia, it was a life or death situation blood pressure was outrageous 185/110 so I was rushed to deliver by c-section. My baby was born at 25 weeks and weight 1 pound and 3 ounces. She was in the NICU for almost 60-80 days. She went through her up- and downs but today she is 14 years old and a healthy child thanks the lord. She is a miracle baby.

Then in Nov 2009 I was pregnant again with my second child by my second marriage new partner. I was so scared throughout my pregnancy. At about 22 weeks on April 2010 I got sick and got preeclampsia at 23 weeks....no seizure thanks God. But Unfotunately, my baby did not survive. The baby was much bigger then my first child but that hospital does not rescue babies that early. The hospital my first baby was born does rescue children that young about 23 weeks and over.  It has been hard for me, to not think about Taylor she is the baby in the picture you see. I am not sure if you readers go by your instinct but I had a funny feeling something was going to happen...I have researched and feel prepared to go through this roller coaster ride again.

I have heard of Aspirin being a little effective at least to try extend my pregnancy longer. Since loosing Taylor I have been taking Prenatal pills, and vitamine D since my levels were super low when they should be at above 30 they were an 8. My Hemetologist gave me the ok to take these. I am also taking folic acid and fish oil.  This time I decided that I will not work and if I do it will be part time. The positive thing about this whole thing is that we are aware about this ugly disease and hopefully we can catch it before it strikes.
