My daughter is now eight years old and Thank God she is in good health. I am now 37 and also in good health.
But eight years ago it was a different situation. After my water broke and I went to the hospital the nurses told me that I had protein in my urine and that they were calling in the doctor. The baby was not coming out naturally so they began to induce labor, at the same time they took blood from me every hour.At this time I began to get a horrible headache.Soon after I had an IV filled with magnesium sulfate- I was told my blood pressure was too high. After 12 hours the baby still did not want to come and besides a headache and abdominal pain I had no labor pains. A few hours later I was told I would probably need a C-section.The next day after 24 hours the nurse came in and said I would have to have the C-section for sure. At this time my vision was blurring and I could not see my husband clearly. They took me in for an "emergency C-section" After my daughter was born they took her after I held her five minutes to Neonatal Intensive Care- she stayed there for five days. When I was back in my room and out of my drug state the nurses, assistants and doctors told me that they were all "praying for me "I did not realize what was really going on until I got home. I had to stay in the hospital for seven days. It so happens that four months into my pregnancy I was bleeding and the placenta detached. My high risk doctors told me bed rest but never mentioned preeclampsia. Im sure there is so much more information now. I am no longer with my husband but I am remarried and my new husband wants a child I am in the mist of getting information-I am older and scared that I will go through the same situation.Of course I have so much more knowledge now that I did not have then. As I said before my daughter and I are healthy I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth. If there is any body out there who is going through the same situation please feel free to E-mail me Thank You
