There was an effort made February/March last year for Oprah's show. We submitted Shelly's story as part of a package that was delivered to Harpo. Never got a reply. I wrote to Oprah many times after, no reply.The Today show did a breif segment about pe on January 4, 2005, the day Shelly was diagnosed with pe. I wrote to them several times afterwards asking them to do a more in-depth segment prior to last year's WAT, no reply. This year I wrote to Meredith at The View several times prior to this year's WAT, no reply. There has got to be somebody out there wanting to address this non-discriminating illness!

It's amazing to me Oprah hasn't done pe. As to the dramas - there was that really famous ep of ER, remember? Love's Labor Lost - when Dr Greene screwed up a delivery with an eclamptic woman.

i was mistaken..i think oprah showed a baby on her show ..whose mother had PE . You ppl are right..there has been no show ON preeclampsia..

I believe Montell had a woman on his show that had severe PE. Her sister in law ended up being the surogate mother for her. Ut was a show about miracle births not PE specifically.

Nope, no Oprah show on preeclampsia! I think they did a show on life threatening situations, and one of the women had PE. A couple of years ago, we did a full-on campaign to try to get on Oprah, and a while back someone was doing a push for Dr. Phil. No luck yet! Please feel free to write to anyone you think might be receptive, we'd love to see something out there nationally!

Ok my question. Do any of you know has any of the talk shows like Oprah, Montell etc. The good one not the bad ones. Ever done a show on PE or HELLP before? If so do you recall when? If not I think we should try to get them to do one. I really did not know anything about these two diseases before I got them. And now I am wanting to know all I can about them. And what frightens me is alot of doctors still do not know what they are. Point my mom just got a new doctor and they ask all the personal questions to try to get to know you and My mom told the doc about me. Well she had never heard of either of them.[:(] This really realy frightens me.
