Wow - sleep apnea huh? One thing I love about this place is even mods can learn things! I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea last year after doing a sleep study. Maybe I had it when I was pregnant.

Hubby said I started snoring about two weeks ago. I ended up coming down with a cold though and just fully got over it 2-3 days ago. I guess usually I don't. A few nights ago he had to go sleep on the couch I was so bad. But I relate that to the cold. I will ask him tonight if he's still noticing it since he hasn't said anything since the night he went out on the couch.

Sometimes I wonder if this might be correlated with sleep apnea, which is correlated with preeclampsia. One of our Vision Grants a few years ago was awarded to a researcher investigating the correlation more carefully, to see if a CPAP might turn out to be therapeutic or not. If the PE causes the sleep apnea, then treating it might not help the PE - but there's a benefit to treating treatable sleep apnea, simply because it's better to breathe if possible!

Do you know if you're snoring?

my BP's tend to be higher in the afternoon/evening... I have had some high in the morning, they seem to be climbing no matter what time of day, but the worst ones are later in the day

Thanks. I stopped in my family dr's this afternoon. They said I had trace amounts of protien. My bp was great, has been all day expect for this morning. Which I find weird since it was elevated all weekend and I kept holding off calling the on call and said I would do it today and then today its fine.... a little frustrating.

A friend of mine who was on hospital bedrest had normal pressures all day except for in the middle of the night. Go figure! Mine is typically lower in the morning and higher at night. I think that's one of the great things about keeping such good track of your own bp... you start to
see trends that you doctor might not pick up on.

I don't have an explanation but I remember that happening in my last pregnancy! I would have thought after resting all night it would be lower but it wasn't! I would just record it and let your Dr. know. He may have an explanation.

BP higher in the am?

Post by octbaby09 » Mon Mar 12, 2012 06:28 am

My bp has been all over the place. I average 100/60. This morning first thing (laid in bed for 10 minutes) I got 130/78. Now its 120/68. Is it higher in the morning?
