I had an aura the day after delivering- it was like a pulsing pixelated worm in the periphery of my vision. The nurse was in with me and I told her about it. No one said anything about it, nor whether it was related to the pe or not.

I definitely think you should tell you doctor.
It wasn't just headaches that they asked me about, every single day in the hospital they would say "Any visual disturbances?"
which yours sounds like a visual disturbance.

I would definitely ask. But.... I have migraine with aura, and pregnancy makes them worse. Do you get any headaches?

On a side note, I realize that the term "auras" sounds like I think I'm experiencing some sort of supernatural phenomenon, lol. I'm not thinking I'm some sort of pregnant psychic :D . Just experiencing a rather odd symptom.

Thanks!

Hello,

Brand new member here. Just have a quick question that I can never seem to find any info on. I am currently 17 weeks along in my 3rd pregnancy. My first was is 2003, went pretty smoothly until the last month, where I suddenly swelled up like a balloon. I was induced a week early and given a c-section due to labor not progressing. I ended up being diagnosed with Pre-e, pulmonary edema and pneumonia AFTER the birth. At the time, I had never even heard of Pre-e. 7 years later, in 2011 I had a second pregnancy, and in my 37th week my new doc noticed my blood pressure had spiked and there was protein in my urine. So to be safe, she gave my a c-section the next day. I am now pregnant again, and everything seems to be going normally, except for the fact that my blood pressure is always consistently high at my appointments. I think it;s because I am so nervous about going through this again. I monitor my pressure at home constantly and it generally runs in the perfect range.

My question is this, in every pregnancy I have had, starting somewhere in the beginning I tend to see these.. auras.. I suppose they could be called. They are ALWAYS orange, and the glow softly. They don't hurt my vision, and are only in my peripheral vision. Never anywhere but in the corner of my eye. With my first pregnancy, they used to bounce around, the way a ball bounces- up and down. They popped up in my last pregnancy around month 2, but were not nearly as bad as my first. And sure enough, around 1 1/2-2 months, here they are again. I mostly see them in the morning, or if I suddenly stand up or exert myself. They do not seem related to my blood pressure, because first thing in the morning I'll sit up and see one glowing/hovering out of the corner of my eye. I'll walk to my bathroom to check my blood pressure and see 105/65 for a reading. They really do not appear to be pressure related. I'll go out for walks, and get a good sweat going and not see them at all.

I'm mainly wondering if this is something other people have seen. All the reading about visual disturbance I have seen list the black spots, white floaters, those things, which I have seen before, but are totally different. I have only had these during pregnancy, and am concerned because for both of my other pregnancies I had pre-e. Has anyone else noticed any Orange glowing? I have yet to bring it up to my doctor, because they seem like a normal part of my pregnancies.. I probably should.. Yes. I will. At my next check up. But in the meanwhile, what gives?

Thanks!!!!
