Thanks for the info. I don't think I'll make it to 39. Pressure is up to 160/110 ish on about 1200 mg labatelol daily. Lower with rest. Dr appt tues. have had a mild but constant headache that turned pretty bad last night but subsided with coffee and tylenol. Bpp and nst were good this week. I see my very favorite MFm this week.

And thank God that you do. Lots of us would be lost without it.

Medical peeps call this "the problem of knowledge transfer" - just because research has been conducted doesn't mean it's trickled down to care providers across the board! Part of the reason we exist is to facilitate it.

For whatever it's worth, I wanted to add that my midwife *just* learned about this study at a conference last week and told me about it yesterday. I, thanks to this board, already knew about it. My point is: I don't know how this information is disseminated, but I wouldn't assume that your doctors have seen it or, if they have, that they've really thought about it. I always feel weird bringing up this kind of study with a doctor (they're the experts after all), but I won't hesitate anymore! Best of luck to you!

In my last pregnancy I had severe pre-e at 33 weeks and delivered at 36. I had steroids at 33 and he only had hrs in nicu. I hated being on magnesium sulfate for so many reasons (slowwww induction, hallucination, loss of bonding time, difficulty or impossibility of initiating latch, a total of about 72 hrs in bed). With gestational diabetes And chronic hypertension the docs are just talking about inducing at 39 if no severe symptoms. My bps have been around 140/90-100 give or take the past couple weeks with one bad headache that resolved I am on 200 x 2 labatelol a day. I just feel that I might be able to avoid magnesium at 37-38 but will start spilling protein any longer and without steroids baby might not be as strong as my ds was at 36. I guess time will tell. Any input or advice?
