Cardiologist ordered an echo to check for cardiomyopathy the tech said the echo looked normal, so while its GREAT that my heart isnt enlarged.. I still have no answer for the shoulder blade plain and the shortness of breath.

They didnt say anything about repeating the 24 hr. I was told that if my BP goes up, then they will repeat my labs :/

Did your doc say anything about when she would order another 24 hour urine?

I not dialated any, so thats good. She wanted to do a fetal fibronectin test but said that it would throw the test results and it could end up giving a false positive for eary labor so she had to toss the sample. She said to watch for 4 contractions in an hour and come back in if that happens. So ar im only hvaing about 2-3 an hour but theyre much stronger than they were before. She said to keep an eye on the bp still and when I talked to her abot the shoulder pain (third time Ive brought it up), and shortness of breath she decided to refer me to cardiology.. so im making an appt there now.

Im going in today b/c I started spotting over the weekend. Im thinking my mucus plug might already be coming out from the looks of it. I will mention those things when I go in!

Ive never heard of peripartum cardiomyopathy, but now that I've looked it up.. im 99% sure thats what I had with my first! I had the shortness of breath, the cough, and severe ifficulty breathing laying flat. Along with tachycardia and the tachy never went away after that.

Well my baseline BP was never that low, but when my BP readings started jumping around last pregnancy my MFM said it meant I was headed for pre-e again or chronic hypertension later in life. Or both.

In your shoes I'd call the doc this morning and update them on your new symptoms of swelling moving into hands and shortness of breath. And see if they want you to come in sooner to get checked out.

Shortness of breath can be caused by something common like asthma (for some women it is worse in pregnancy, and a doc could check your peak flow). Or it could be a symptom of pre-e / pulmonary edema. Or even something more rare like peripartum cardiomyopathy (Which can cause fatigue, shortness of breath, cough, & difficulty breathing lying flat). Or it could be baby getting bigger and pressing up on diaphragm. In any case I know that I'd feel better if a doc listened to my chest/ lungs and I could get another 24 hour urine to see if my proteinura levels were ramping up.

Last weekend I was getting bp's in the 130-140/80-89 with one diastolic of 90 and one systolic of 141... This week they have been averaging 120-130/70-78. This morning im at 95/50! Do you think im in the clear with a bp that low, or is that considered labile and a concern? Whats interesting to me, is that dispite my BP being low this morning.. I still feel yucky. I didnt wake up with the headache, but have it now.. and its still hard to breathe, I feel completely exhausted.
