Congrats on your pregnancy! We all think that freaking out a little is perfectly normal and a sign of good mental health after a PE pregnancy. Who wouldn't be scared after that? Freaking out a lot can be unhealthy and unproductive, so make sure you talk to your doctor if that starts to happen.
I am too chicken to get pregnant again, but I know I would feel much better if I had a great medical team and a management plan in place. Do you have faith in your doctor(s)? Have you discussed how this pregnancy will be managed? If you have, are you comfortable with the plan?
There isn't actually anything we can do to prevent PE. There are a few things we can do to make sure we are monitored adequately. That can lead to a better outcome for you and baby. The most important thing working in your favor is that PE/HELLP are much more common in first pregnancies. Many women here have had healthy second pregnancies. We also have posters who have had PE multiple times, but it is generally milder and occurs later in subsequent pregnancies. We like to be watched very closely because we are all generally at least a little higher risk than the general population.
I really hope this is a long and boring pregnancy. Keep posting. We are here for you, and we get it when you need to freak out a little (or a lot).
