Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum despite the fact that I have had pre-eclampsia twice. Our last baby girl was stillborn at 32+3 weeks on 30th June 2012. Cause of death was IUGR from Severe Early Onset Pre-eclampsia. My symptoms started 9 days before her little heart stopped, I was in hospital being monitored at the time. They told me she was small 3lb 1 oz at 32 weeks, measuring 28 weeks, but that blood flow was fine. I felt her slowing down, I was ill the day it happened but my blood pressure was normal (I usually have low bp so they didn't take my version of high bp seriously). The midwife showed us the placenta after she was born and she said it had almost no blood in it, it was brown and wasted.
My first baby was born healthy by emergency c-section at 39 weeks - I had been in hospital since 36 weeks with pre-e.
I'm now pregnant on our third baby, 13 weeks at the moment. 3 different consultants have told me that I am very likely to have pre-eclampsia again. They just can't tell me if it's more likely to be normal pre-ec or early onset. I found statistics on recurrence rates on either late onset or early onset as they are different but I can't find any info on people who have had a late episode and a severe early episode. Consultants have informed me that it's rare to have an early episode after a late one. They have me labelled high risk and they seem very nervous, which in turn is making me more nervous.
Has anyone had a combination of late and early episodes in their history?
Does is sound insane that it's this early and I'm already thinking that if I get to 30 weeks that would be amazing and anything else will be a bonus? Am I being crazy?
