I will probably try to call her again on Monday but like I said I think everything is okay since she didn't call back. I started swelling in my legs, ankles, feet, and hands. My back had been hurting pretty badly too and if that gets any worse I'm gonna call the on call line and see what they think.

It is your doctor's jobs to be bothered by her patients. Try not to worry about it, even if she seems annoyed. Can you get a hold of a nurse (nurses line) who could tell you the results earlier than Wednesday?
Swelling can be normal in pregnancy, or a sign of PE, especially if it is sudden and around the eyes, face and hands. Where did you swell up?

I'm sorry you didn't get a call back. Don't worry about bothering them, that's what they get the big bucks for. You don't need to wait for Wednesday, you can always call before. You can also usually leave messages with the doctor at the hospital or have them paged. Especially if your symptoms change or get worse. Glad to hear your BP is behaving well.

I hate posting back to back like this but just wanted to update. I called my doctors office twice today and left messages but apparently she didn't find it too important to call me back so in guessing everything looked good. Next appointment is Wednesday so she will probably let me know then? Sigh.

I forgot to add that I did start to swell yesterday evening but I think it's just normal pregnancy swelling because my BP didn't really get that high. This is the first I've had swelling that noticeable though.

I had an appointment yesterday and told my OB about the heartburn and pain I've been feeling so she decided to have my repeat blood work. She hams pretty much ruled out Pre-e and thinks it's just heartburn but she said she wants to make sure everything is functioning properly including my pancreas and after that we will * with a GI specialist. She said next time I call and don't get a call back to make sure and be persistent in getting a hold of her which made me feel a little better about it but I know she's still super busy and I still feel like I'm bothering her for nothing. I'm gonna call her today to make sure she looked at my blood work and everything looks good because I know she gets really busy and probably didn't remember she sent me for blood work in the first place. I want to assume since she hasn't called that everything is okay but I still think I should call to be sure.

You need to go to the hospital, now, if you're having pains under your right ribs. I was blown off by the OB/GYN and told (in a really bitchy tone) "of course you're short of breath and tired and your ribs hurt- you're almost 7 months pregnant and you're retaining water. Now, if you'd just rest like I told you to, you'd be fine." I didn't listen. I drove to the ER and had my son a few hours later, via emergency c-section due to Class 1 HELLP. I spent 2 weeks in ICU, had 3 transfusions, and almost needed a liver transplant. All because she was too busy to listen to what I was telling her. The docs had no medical reason why my placenta hadn't ruptured by that point. It's a miracle. Don't chance it! The worst thing is that they'll send you home! GO!

At this point switching wouldn't be an option. I'm 37 weeks today and I can only imagine the hoops I have to jump through to switch providers in time. My insurance just went through a huge switch and dealing with them as of late has been lengthy. Again thank you all for the advice, it is much appreciated. I'm feeling a lot better today than the last two days so I think that's a good sign but I would still have liked to speak with my doctor today. My next appointment isn't until Thursday.

Please go to L&D if you don't feel well. And as has been suggested ask that it is documented that you asked for labs and that it was refused. And please do not feel that you are overreacting (I know it is hard not to). PE and HELLP are very serious conditions and unfortunately many doctors do not take their patients' complaints, worries and symptoms seriously. If you don't feel that your current doctor is the best for you and your baby, would you consider to switch? There is nothing worse to be stuck with a doctor whom you don't trust and who is not taking your concerns seriously.

Thank you for the advice! I never got a call back and I should have called again but I thought about it and figured I will just go into L&D if I begin to feel worse. I feel as if I'm overreacting but the severity of the possible complications make me feel as if it's okay to overreact. It sucks that doctors can't see it that way too. This doctor was actually referred to me by the wives of my husbands coworkers and right now I'm kind of wondering if I should have picked another doctor :( she is a great doctor but lately it just seems like she's been way too busy.
