Hi all...just wanted to run my situation past some people who have had experience in this area. I'll try to make my story as short as possible...I am currently 26 weeks along with boy #4!!!! (This is the last try...for sure!) Seems like I have had problems from the start. I had IUGR with my 1st, no probs with 2nd, and was borderline pre-e with 3rd. (I had the wonderful pitting edema, but my bp never went over 138/85.) I was seeing a dr before I got prego for problems with recurring kidney stones, and I have been on prescription pain meds since April. At about 4 weeks, I began having SEVERE migraine-like headaches every single day, and went to family dr. He sent me for a sono...everything measured ok, baby in right place, etc. Put me Tylenol 3. At about 8 weeks, began having severe pain in upper abdomen along with the headaches, ended up in er. Had sono done, dr thought maybe gallbladder prob, everything ok, baby measures fine, gave me antibiotics for UTI (have had ongoing UTI's & kidney infections due to kidney stones, so no surprise)Started having severe itching in August, breaking out with hive-like bumps on thighs, butt, and lower back about twice a week, always at night. Finally saw ob 9/15. He said itching probably from Tylenol 3, gave me Darvocet. Said nothing we can do about kidney stones, I will have to be on pain meds entire pregnancy. Pap came back abnormal, had to do 2nd colpo this year. OB says no cancer, so if there is something else wrong there is nothing we can do during pregnancy anyways, so no need to worry. (Whatever! I DO know better than that!) Had to go back to OB with severe pain (thought I was passing kidney stone) throwing up, and had very scanty urine output. He told me to take my pain meds and see a urologist. Saw urologist, said didn't see any kidney stones on left side, only right, and of course, my pain was on left. Told me didn't matter even if I was passing stone, nothing we can do during pregnancy.Take the pain meds. So I passed the stone that night with Darvocet's help. Not fun, especially while prego! Urine flow got a little better after that, but I still didn't think it was enough. Throwing up was slowly replaced with diarrhea for a few weeks. Then, when finally feeling better, I had another sono. Everything fine, but tech remarked several times about how the baby's femur and abdomen appeared to be about 2 weeks off (too small) OB felt no prob since amnio fluid 4.1 RUQ. Then I began to swell. Feet and hands. I began throwing up again, and urine became more and more concentrated. I swear, no matter how sick I have been in my life, I have never seen it as concentrated as this! It smelled awful too, like a sewer (Sorry, I know this is gross!) It also had a bronze color to it, which I assumed was a tinge of blood. So I went back to OB. Said I had gained 4 lbs since appt 3 weeks before, despite throwing up/diarrhea every day, so he was not worried. I need to continue drinking fluids. I had to request a kidney function test, and turns out they "lost" the results from my original CBC, but just now noticed. Took blood again, had to take from my wrist, as they cannot find any other veins. Nurse seemed concerned because it took me forever to stop bleeding. This is 2nd time we have been through this exact same procedure. I noticed on chart that my bp is now 129/80, and has steadily been rising since 1st appt back in September . Not bad, but my pre-pregnancy bp is 110/70 consistently, and ob told me he would keep an eye on that. I have basically been on my own bedrest since July, and it seems to me that everything is getting worse. I still have severe headaches every day, and now it is partnered with trouble breathing(not physical, I just feel like im not getting oxygen), a pounding/ racing heart(I can feel it in my chest and neck , and hear it in my left ear), low grade fevers off and on, constant itching, swelling (not too bad though), cloudy urine, ringing in ears, etc. I have caught my bp up as high as 136/85, but it usually around 130/80. My pulse rate has been anywhere from 90-115, which I'm not sure if that's high or not. There has been about 4-5 times that I have had SEVERE upper abdominal pain around my ribs and in my neck, but I will take a pain pill and it will subside overnight. I've never had heartburn in my life, but I was under the impression that it actually burned somewhat, and the pain I feel is definitely not burning in any way. I originally thought maybe some of this was a side effect of pain meds, but I have quit taking them, except for the upper abdominal pain, which is not too often now. I'm just trying to tough it out without the meds. I am finally going to another OB, but it wont be for 2 weeks. My body just feels so tired and worn out. I'm not sure if I am just over-reacting to all of this, but I am starting to worry. I am also very limited on dr choices, as I have Medicaid this time around. Does any of this sound like a cause for alarm to any of you? Have any of you experienced anything like this? Please let me know your opinions! Thanks! Sorry this is so long! [:I]
