It still is bittersweet visiting the cemetery. It took me a year to get that task done and I had to enlist my FIL to help. I kept her ashes in a box in a drawer along w/ pictures and things for a year before letting them go to the cemetery. It was so final. But it was good to do.

Others have mentioned candles - my husband lights a tealight each night at bedtime in our bedroom for FB. Every night.

We had the top of a bookshelf in our bedroom dedicated to Gracie. I have her urn in the middle and flowers on each side. As the flowers started to dry I'd put them in an empty vase and soon it filled with different colored petals and such, it was very pretty.

I thought about buying her little things during holidays (like a little plush Easter bunny around Easter) but it was still too hard to buy something for my baby that wasn't here to enjoy it. I do love the idea though, as I get stronger I think I'll start to do that with her new resting place.

Holly, thanks for the corner table idea. I love it. Since moving we haven't found a place for her that I'm happy with but I think a nice corner table will be great.

We had Benjamin creamated and I have a beautiful corner table with a picture next to his ashes that I guess has become somewhat of an altar. Depending on the month,season or holiday I decorate it and always have a candle burning. It comforts me to do this as well. Love to all of you. xo

Kristy! Nothing would make me happier than for Mason to look down from Heaven and say "my mom loves me enough to make me cheesy flower arrangements" and blush a little bit! You seriously but such a nice happy thought in my head. <3

I live a good bit aways from Cooper's grave as well so I have put my parents in charge of switching them out. It makes them feel like they are doing something for the grandson they never got a chance to know. Making the arrangements has been very therapeutic for me. I have to admit some of my arrangements have turned out a bit on the cheesy side which leaves my husband joking "Poor Cooper, His momma is determined to embarass him even through he is in Heaven". :)

Here's an idea that I want to pass along for any of yall. I made flower arrangements for Cooper's marker for every month/holiday with the flowers and picks to match the holiday or season. Christmas, Valentines Day, St Patricks Day, Easter, Football season, etc. I figured since I could not dress him in cute Holiday shirts, arrangements for each Holiday would have to do.
