Happy Birthday to your sweet Gracie. What a beautiful way to celebrate her birthday- different that I know you would have liked- beautiful none the less. I have no doubt about those signs. Our angels are wise beyond their years and seem to always know when their parents need a lil' "Hey Mom, Hey Dad". The bond between a parent a child, no matter how short the time on earth, is stronger than any force in nature.

I wanted to mention all of the signs I think she sent us today:
- on the way home from breakfast we saw a really fat rainbow! I told my husband that I think she was telling us that she was giving us her blessing to make her a big sister. I took tons of pictures of it.
- We went to Costco later in the afternoon and as we turned the corner into the main aisle, there was this beautiful little girl who looked just like I would have imagined her to look standing in the main aisle, just staring at us. She ran off a few seconds later.
- I looked at the time this posted and it was at 5:27pm, the same time Gracie was born. I totally did not plan it. I have no idea what time zone the forum or even I'm in.
- Hubs was cleaning out his wallet earlier and came across a fortune and the Chinese word on the back was "daughter."

Ramblings of a madwoman? Probably, but it sure helped ease today's pain.

I can't believe it's been a year! How I wish that Gracie was here with you on her birthday- (or maybe that it wasn't her birthday and she'd been born when she should have.) I'll light a candle for Gracie tonight.

Happy Birthday to sweet Gracie! It's beautiful to do something special, but so very hard to not break down. I think that the first birthday is a milestone, also for us BLMs, that deserves to be celebrated. Thinking of you, your husband and especially of your precious Gracie. Sending you hugs.

Husband and I celebrated by getting up super early and driving to the other side of the island to watch the sunrise. After it came up it we drove a to a little turn out along the coast and released a dozen pink and white balloons. Something about watching them all fly away broke us and we stood there crying for a while. I whispered a happy birthday message to her as he was taking pictures and then we went to breakfast. Later I'm going to bake cupcakes in some princess paper cups I found at the party store.

I've been crying quite a bit lately. I thought I had been handling things so well up until a few days ago.. maybe I'm hormonal from AF coming. *sigh* What a sad way to spend what should be such a beautiful day.
