So sorry for this Anika - my pressure stayed up in the hospital after Faith's birth and was on Procardia for a month after, then it stablized. Not sure is this is related to the severity of your PE. Had PIH with my son, pretty high BPs, but stablized right away after delivery. I hope they stablize for you soon. I am about 10 pounds lower than my pre-preg weight with Faith, but have about 20 more to go to be where I want (my pre-preg weight with my son). Don't know if this had to do with the severity of the PE I had, but trying to get as healthy as possible before TTC. Hope the weight might help too. Best of luck!!!!

My son is almost 8 months old and I am still on B/p meds. I am on a much lower dosage then immediately PP. My pressure of great now and hopefully soon I will be off them completely. My GYN sent me to a specialist after 6 weeks PP. My cardiologist I see said I need to give body a year. I truly believe that since I have decreased my meds by so much. Labetolol was 400mg and now 100mg, Aldactone was 50mg now 25mg and my pressure are no higer then 120's over 78, and alot of times much lower then that. The more I worried about my pressure the higher it was and trust me I worried alot. So I do understand. Hang in there and let your body recover some you have been through a tough time not to long ago,

I had severe PE @ 31 wks with bp's up to 200. After EM C-sec at my 2wk follow up bps were fine, but the peri never took me off of Labatelol until I mentioned something. I was Shocked that with all the trouble that I had it was normal again, Thankfully.

I agree with Therese, whenever I exercise too, even if's it's being a goofball and dancing to the wiggles with my daughter everyday it does help. [:)]

I don't know if this will help, but I have chronic HTN and the one thing that consistently gets my BP down is exercise. Not a ton, just walking 20-30 minutes 3-4 times a week. Every time I get really motivated and do it well my BP drops dramatically. I'm sorry you're feeling so lousy. Hopefully the specialist will have something positive to tell you.

Let me know if they recommend you seeing a renal
specialist. I've heard of other ladies also going
for consults... I'm wondering if I should be thinking
of going at one point. Anyway, I hope you are feeling better
real soon!!! By the way, I've just started reading When
Bad things Happen to Good People by Harold S. Kushner.
While, I don't completely agree with the theology, I believe
it is a wonderful book. You may want to pick it up too.

Well gynie put me on something to get me through until my appt. with a specialist. BP came down to 150/90 but I still feel awful. Gynie thinks these are the underlying issues coming forth. Definitely hypertension. We shall see what else is going on. . .

As for the TTC- heck, I became preg with Casey 30 pounds heavier than I was preg with Katlyne. Must have been all those DQ ice creams at Children's hospital. (MY BAD)...

I'm sorry, Anika. One thing at a time, just like you said. I know that's easier said than done with all that you have been through. And you have been through so much...

I think that everything is magnified when your health is not good and you are feeling sick. I hope that you get some answers at your appt. on Monday. Once you get some medicine to help you get well and are able to relax and get some rest, I think that you will feel much better. Then you can tackle the weight issue. Hey, you've lost the baby weight-that's fantastic! Be good to yourself. You've got a lot of women rooting for you.
