Thanks for the reply Suze. My little Nicole is doing fantastic. At almost 4lbs and now off everything except her feeding tube she now in a level 2 nursery still at the hospital she was born at. I really understand what you mean by being kind to yourself. I have been trying to do that. To treat myself to things for me. My husband and I just celebrated our 12th anniversary and we went for a dinner out together, the first one since Nicole was born 7 wks ago. It has been a rough time for us both with having her born 12wks early and all the uncertainty that goes with having a baby in NICU. We look forward to having her moved to a level 2 nursery in our local hospital which is only 5 mins away instead of an hour away. Most importantly having her home finally. I look foward to hearing from any more moms from Canada. Take care Suze and congrats on the birth of your little girl.

Congratulations on your daughter! You must be very proud and pleased with her progress. That is a huge weight gain! I'm so sorry to read about the loss of your son.

Level 2 is something to look forward to. I remember those hospital weeks very well and Special Care was a million times easier to cope with--there seemed to be so much more space and light and easier access to my baby. It's still no picnic so make sure you are VERY nice to yourself--sometimes I think Starbucks Frappacinos were the only thing that got me through.

I haven't posted since the birth of my daughter (six months ago--wow! It's gone fast, but then it seems like forever too), but I certainly got a lot of support from the people on the site. Half of me just never wants to think about pre-eclampsia again and half of me wants to be more of an activist about it. I won't be having more kids but maybe when my life gets less baby-insane I'll try to do some consciousness-raising here in Ontario.

I'm a Canadian girl here on this forums as well. I have been posted on this site for nearly 2 months and I never know that there was a section for Canadians. LOL. Anyways my name is Kelly and I'm from Ontario. I just had my second baby a little girl named Nicole who was born at 27 wks 3 days due to severe pre-e. I had pre-e with my first pregnancy and because it wasn't treated properly I lost my son Zachary at 34 wks. My daughter is doing very well and I have been told that she could be moved in as early as 2 wks to a level 2 special care nursery. Nicole now weighs 3lbs 5 ozs and the pedis are trying her off her CPAP. Take care. I'll post updates. I look forward to hearing from any moms on this site from Canada.

Hello ladies! I am from Alberta and am 13 weeks into my 2nd pregnancy. I had class 1 HELLP with my first and it certainly took awhile to get up the nerve to get pregnant again. I already am super paranoid with this pregnancy but everything seems to be going okay so far. Nice to meet you all!

I thank you I know that phone call was ackward to get words in with 3 of us on there. I am looking forward to working with you. It is hard but she is in heaven now and it makes me want to spread the word that much more!

KIM -- We were on the phone for over an hour and I never did say how sorry I am for your loss[:0]I can't even imagine the pain you must be going through!

MANALC -- (Sorry don't know your real name) We used to live in Kitchener right up until we brought the girls home from the hospital. Keeping you in my prayers also for a safe pregnancy!

GOODSGRACE and MARLA -- Keeping you in my prayers that your pregnancies keep going great!

SUSAN -- I know what you mean Michaela was 4lbs 12 oz at birth and was 23 lbs 5 oz at 1 year. Melayna was 3 lbs 15 1/2 oz at birth and 19 lbs 11 1/2 oz at 1 year. I look back at pictures from the hospital, and I think on how on earth did I hold those tiny little things so well!

I don't really have any funny moments from "my hospital days" Whatever they were pumping into me was coming right back out. I couldn't stop bringing it up[xx(]

It seems like everyone on here is pregnant with #2!! Hubby wants to start again...he wants that boy, but I'm not sure I'm quite ready yet!

Kim, I'm so sorry about your loss. I hope being here on these boards helps, I know it did for me when I was sad bc DS was still in the hospital after 7 weeks.

GodsGrace, that's wonderful news! I am so glad your daughter is doing great (knock on wood!) and that your pg is going well, I aim for such a positive attitude myself, keep coming back please! Good luck with the c-section. Ouch, a tour of SCNs sounds crazy and very frustrating. I saw some moms go through that when we were in BC women's but they were good to us at least..

Marla woohoo for making it past 32 weeks, awesome news! Did you take prenatal classes for this second baby? We delivered the day our classes were supposed to start! I was induced and drugged up to high heaven (not on morphine but pretty much everything else!). It felt anything but natural, despite not having had a c-sec. So, I wonder if we should take the classes, and if so, should we do it earlier than a couple normally would??

Hi Suze :) glad to hea DS is doing so well! I still get looks from people when I say he is a year old. DS is only 20 pounds, or just under and everyone guesses he is 9 months.. sigh.
