Oh Julie!! I feel for you. I know you are so ready to get on with things. Wish I had advice for you on this one...but I don't.

I was having some "should we, should we not"'s over the past week. My DH is "leaving it up to me", too. I have the chronic hypertension but am on meds, I do have protein showing (236), just found out I have high cholesterol (genetic), have the asthma...over the past week I've been thinking should we wait a little longer; could I be working on any or all of these potential risk factors to get them even a little better...

I just called the peri we saw for the preconception consultation a month or so ago...ran these questions by him. He couldn't tell me that waiting and working on any of these things would definitely make a difference.

As of this moment, my thinking is that as soon as it's time (any week now?!), I think we're still going to go for it.

Here's something that is giving me hope as of yesterday, that even with all the medical knowledge out there, miracles do happen:

A good friend of mine who went through trying to conceive, and then 2 years of IVF treatments finally got her baby a year ago...multiple doctors told her and her DH over years and years that there was no way they would ever conceive on their own. Yesterday when I saw her...she whipped out a positive pregnancy test and after my being stunned, we cried and cried.

Miracles do happen. And I wish a miracle for you, too.

Well.... here's a quick update - I'm frustrated![}:)]

My big question was - If I get pg this month, I'll have been on the meds for 2 months, (An ace-inhibitor that is hopefully working on my blood vessels/kidneys and keeping me from spilling protein, it must be discontinued once a ++ test comes) and, is that adequate, are we ok to start trying? Well of course, I was hoping for and expecting the big green light... We didn't really get a yes or a no though... I know better than thinking there were an absolutes when it comes to preeclampsia but, I guess I was just hoping... The response I got was that if I am concerned, it would be worthwhile to check my urine again to see what my numbers are and that a decrease would be encouraging. I know this is the best medical advice, I just really wanted a quick and easy, "Yes, go for it!"

So, I talked with Andy about this and his response was, "Well, it's up to you." [:(!] WHAT???? He said that he just has no idea what to do anymore about this. He said, "If it's still over 100, do we wait forever for the medicine to work? We don't even know if it will work. If it's at 50mg, do we wait and see if it goes closer to 0, what if it never does and we're waiting and waiting... What if it's at 10mg, is that good enough?" Too be honest, I'm kind of with him on this one... I just want to get pregnant and have a baby. But, I can't help but think that if I get pg right now and then develop pe later, I'll wonder in the back of my mind if doing the 24 hour and then waiting longer may have changed the outcome... KWIM?

So, I just put a call into my dr. to request another 24 hour and then we'll go from there... Right now we're just praying that the results come back, before I ovulate [;)], and, significantly lower...

Sorry to vent. I'm just having one of those frustrating days when you realize (again) that it's not as simple as getting pregnant (not like that's an easy feat though...!) and bringing home a healthy baby... And, I could just about kick Andy's buns for thinking it's ok to dump this decision in my lap... Thanks for listening, I'll let you know when I get the results.

Hey Julie. I have nothing to add except that I think he's either back in the office tomorrow (friday) or Tuesday. I say that b/c when I spoke with him from Toronto, he said that we'd be crossing in the airport on April 1st and that he'd be out of the office for 1 week. Here's hoping he's back by the time you need him!

Good luck!!!

Oh gosh, I hope Dr. E is back before I ovulate![:I] How embarrasing will it be when I call the nurses and say, "Well, I'm ovulating here pretty soon, when do you think he can call me?!?!"[;)]

With Zach it took us three months but, one thing I've learned since then (thanks to TCOYF) is that I ovulate a bit later than I previously thought. So, we'll be crossing our fingers and praying praying praying that it happens quickly, then we'll be crossing our fingers and praying praying praying that the pregnancy is very looooong and uneventful!

Thanks again everyone!!!

Have fun!! I know that I called Dr. E's office earlier this week (about the optical migranes - the nurse had never heard of the corrilation), and he was out of the country, so hopefully he is back and can give you the green light. I think my dh was more nervous the second time (I have to admit to not telling him all that I had learned about pre-e in the mean time, that would have scared him to death), but it was so easy for us the first time, and I think that made him quite proud.

Enjoy!!

Julie,

Great news (sounds so weird to want your AF when you think about it LOL)! Your DH sounds so cute with all that worry. I'll send my fertility along your way and with that you should be pg in no time! LOL

THANKSSSSSS for all the baby dust, pregnancy vibes, homing signals... LOL!!!

I am so excited, I can't even tell yall but, you already know!

My poor husband is a bit less excited than me, besides being scared of the pregnancy, he's now scared of my wrath if I don't end up pg the first month...![:D] It's so funny, last time, I was the one explaining to him that it's ok it didn't happen on the first try or the second..., that each month there's only like a 20% chance or something, etc... Now, he's the one trying to tell me that! I've never been one for taking my own advice though [:I]!

I'll keep you posted!
