Hi, all---here's a little update and a question! I have been on Aldomet 500MG twice a day for about 10 days now. It seems to be working pretty well---my BP has gone down gradually and now is running about 115/70 or so---certainly much lower than the 160/100 it was when they put me on it! I am at about 11 weeks. I know one of the side effects of Aldomet is being tired, but I am BEYOND tired! For example, yesterday I got up about 9:30am, went to church, came home, went back to sleep from about 12-4pm, was up until about 7pm, slept from 7pm-7am, took my boys to school, and then napped from 10-12noon! And right now at about 1pm I am fighting the urge to nap again. I talked to my nurse last week about the tiredness, and she didn't have much to say about it, just that it's a side effect you sort of have to put up with. But I am getting NOTHING done and that kind of sleeping seems extreme to me. I am also on thyroid meds and they are being adjusted also so that might add to the problem. Just wondered if anyone else was dealing with that sort of tiredness, or if on other meds you don't get as tired? It's all worth it of course for a healthy baby and me, but if I could have that AND be awake sometimes, that would be nice!
