Dealing with bed rest

Post by sayonib » Sat Dec 20, 2003 07:23 am

Hi! Have been diagnosed with gestational hypertension, went to the hospital with blurred vision and headache, my inital bp was 170/107 and then went down to 153/82. Am sent home on bedrest since all my labworks came back clear.
How are you all dealing with bedrest? The dr said I can lay on the couch and I plan to go down in the morning and stay there till night and then come upstairs to bed. We have a bedroom downstairs and I could take a nap in the afternoon. Do you all get up at all from a lying position? We have a full recliner, is that less effective than being in a lying position? Apart from going to the bathroom, is there anything else you do?
Any hints or tips would be much appreciated. I am 30 weeks today and my EDD is 2/27/04,

Thanks,
