Thanks for the advice on it! I am already an OJ drinker, so that's easy. As for the bowel stuff, hurray. Just what I need  . My next OBGYN appointment is Monday (week from today) so I will ask her about rerunning the bloodwork to check on my iron. Glad to hear the iron will perk me up...I thought I was just having regular preggo tiredness.

In other news, friends of ours had twin boys on Friday. 35 weeks, each over 4 lb. Had to come out because one twin's placenta was no longer cooperating. They look so big compared to our Violet when she was born (2.5 lb). It was a weird sense of deja vu when we got to see them. They are in the same NICU Violet was in just about 2 years ago. The handwashing, the smells, the sounds...it was like going back in time. The twins are even in the same spot Violet was, and one of the nurses recognized me. She asked me about this baby, and I said - so far so good this time! Let's hope it stays that way...I don't want to relive the NICU again. ONCE WAS ENOUGH! :)

I would ask to have your levels rechecked in a couple weeks or your next appointment just to make sure you are at the right balance. You don't want too low levels of iron, but I'd also be careful not to have too high levels either.

I have anemia as well. I have been taking iron for almost a month and I feel far better than before I started. I took about 2 weeks to get the full effect. OJ is a good drink to pair it with. The constipation can be a bummer, so yes, the stool softener might be something you want. I haven't taken one yet but I am going to look into it because being uncomfy that way is yucky. Also, if you take calcium or eat or drink calcium rich stuff a lot, be sure to give about 4 hours space between that and your iron. It inhibits absorption. Just know you will feel much better once you get going. :)

Well at least an iron tablet is better than the two alternatives. Also it absorbs better if you take it with a source of vitmain C like some OJ and it can be really constipating so be on the look out. You may have to add a stool softner if you are on it long term.

But YAY! For no swelling or pree. Hope the next 12 weeks are very boring

I don't have any experience with anemia. But gosh, doesn't it sometimes seem like if it's not one thing it's another!? I hope the diet changes help you feel more bounce in your step!

28 weeks is approaching on Wednesday, and so far, so good. Have not started swelling like I did last time...hurray. However, I had my gestational diabetes test last week, and while I don't have that - I do have pretty bad anemia. Oh good. So now I am taking iron, and eating lots of red meat, dark greens, nuts and dried fruit. This also explains why my butt has been dragging and I have felt somewhat weak at times. Anyone else had anemia? Anything I should watch for?

Next OBGYN appt is a week from Monday, and I should be having another ultrasound in the next 2-3 weeks.
