Holy moly! I passed!

I did my 1 hour glucose test on Thursday, thinking it was kinda pointless since I failed with Lucas and ended up having gestational diabetes and even being on meds for it. My MFM was not very optimistic that I would pass.

But I called and found out yesterday that I DID PASS! THE 1 HOUR! My level was only 121 and they just wanted it under 140. I am so excited! I was bracing myself to do either the 3 hour or go ahead and do the stupid diet and blood sugar level monitoring. (I know people, including myself, try to tell people that it's not really a big deal/THAT bad. But honestly, it is a PAIN to count carbs constantly, to be sure to eat regularly, to remember to test your blood sugar an hour after every meal and write all of the numbers down, etc. I mean, it's not super "difficult", but it's tedious and time consuming and I have a VERY BUSY 15 month old who literally spends his days trying to climb the walls as it is, I have no time for that diabetes junk, though of course I would have grudgingly found the time to do it if I had had to.)

28 weeks yesterday and this by far has been my easiest, most uneventful pregnant. Baby was measuring about a week ahead (so no growth restriction on the radar anytime soon), no gestational diabetes, as far as I know, my blood pressure and everything has been okay- I've not had any troublesome symptoms and it's been normal at my appointments so I haven't worried about checking it very often unless I get a headache or something. The only glitch we've had was when I tried to break up my dogs fighting, got a teeny tiny bite on my hand (seriously less than an inch and not very deep), by the next morning it was BADLY infected (though I had cleaned it and put neosporin on it right after it happened), I ended up in the hospital on IV antibiotics for almost a week. (My blood pressure was excellent then though.) Needless to say my OB and MFM were not very amused by that fiasco, but that was around 13 weeks and seems not to have affected the baby at all. So here's hoping that will be our only drama this time! My c-section is already scheduled for Oct.26th at 37 wks, hopefully we make it that far!
