I'm keeping you in my thoughts, and I can't wait to see the weeks fly by :-) I'm so happy you made it past your 26 week 5 day mark, that was when my little angel was born to. You are making great progress!!!

Hey!! Thank you for thinking of me! Wow, well so far so good my pressures are still good I am beyong grateful for that!! So, yesterday was a big day for me. Yesterday I was 26 weeks 5 days, that was when I ended up delivering our son Ben by emergency csection. So, today makes the longest I have ever been pregnant! It was Halloween and we have a big family with lots of kids in it and I am the fun aunt who always goes all out in costume etc. It was a great distraction for my husband and I to be with everyone. I only walked a block or two when it was trick or treating time though, sat the rest of the night outside with the family giving out candy with my feet up.. It was a beautiful night. Today I am thinking omg , I am still pregnant wow!! Its sad because I never allow myself to get too happy and excited after losing my boy. I am hopeful though! I have another growth scan next week the 9th and tomorrow I will be 27 weeks. Every day is a blessing and an emotional rollercoaster at the same time!! I will keep you posted !! Thank you again xo

Oooooh yes ok I remember them doing those on me the week I was in the hospital before Benjamin was born. Just didn't put it together with the initials. Thank you girls!! ( my MFM did say that the amniotic fluid levels were good at this time)

We have been doing BPP's weekly for the last 3 weeks, and will continue until I deliver. I have to say they are VERY reassuring!

Yep, NST are nonstress tests. They are even more reassuring when combined with an amniotic fluid level check (AFI= amniotic fluid index), my MFM calls them "modified bpp's" because they only do the NST and a fluid check-but that's more than just an NST.

BPP's are biophysical profiles. They do an NST plus then watch the baby on ultrasound for a half hour. They want to see 30 seconds of practice breathing (which you typically may not see until 28+ wks), at least two big movements, muscle tone, and good fluid levels. Each thing is worth 0 or 2 points, so if they practice breathing but only for 15 seconds in a half hour, they still get 0, above an 8 is passing, below that is failing. So at my MFM clinic there is 10 possible points (NST, movement, breathing, muscle tone, fluid levels), I think some clinics don't include the NST as part of the 10 so in that case only 8 would be possible. They typically only do BPP's at our clinic if the baby doesn't have a reactive NST or there is some other concern like decelerations during an NST. I had a lot of BPP's with Luke because he liked keeping the NST's interesting, this new baby has passed all the NST's with flying colors so we haven't had to do any BPP's this time-though they do check my fluid levels every NST (2x weekly.)
