Kaelana's reflux is completely gone after her nissen and g tube......she is doing so well, she is off of oxygen! She no longer has to take her reflux meds or her breathing treatments. Sadly, she did get a blood infection from her iv site from the surgery. Thankfully it was simple staph...no mrsa or sepsis. She does have to finish her week treatment of iv antibiotics, and then we can take her home Saturday!

Keeping my fingers crossed that you can go home soon. Glad you found a support system that is helpful to you.
I remember that labetalol did not do much to control my BP. I was switched around quite a bit before they found the right kind of medication. Perhaps you want to ask your doc if switching meds might be something to consider.

Well, the blood pressure issue remains. I am on 300 mg of labetalol daily and they may change or increase my dose because I'm still averaging about 140/90 with meds. Our hospital has an awesome march if dimes rep who does multiple weekly lunch and learns and sessions that have helped me with feeling confident in taking care of her. They are hoping if surgery goes good we can be home within a week!

Well, Kaelana's due date was yesterday 4/27). Looks like we will be home within a week or two. She has severe chronic lung disease and severe reflux. The surgeons are doing a Nissun and g tube Monday or Tuesday. She is still on O2, and we are anticipating her to come home on it. She wants to eat but gets pooped out between the CLD and reflux. She's over 6 lb and is the love of our lives!!!! This site helped me through many scary times and questions. Having pre e and a preemie are far from ideal but I'm so blessed to have Kaelana and to have minimal issues this nicu experience
