Hanging in, trying not to stress to much!

I hope you avoid it altogether, too! How are you doing?

Glad it wasn't bad for you! I don't remember my first experience with being horrible other then the cath and not being able to get out of bed, but I have heard some people had really awful experiences. Hoping to avoid it all together this time!

Three experiences on mag sulfate

I've now been on magnesium sulfate three times -- following all three births of my children.

My first child I was on the mag starting at 3 hours before my son was born, and on it after. It was hard being in labor and hard pushing with it. Afterwards, it was a clear liquid diet for me for 24 hours while on the mag.

My second child, my preeclampsia diagnosis came a few hours after she was born and that's when they started it. Same clear liquid diet, though I had a regular meal before that since my diagnosis hadn't come in.

With my third child, they started the mag roughly 2 hours after she was born, even though I already had my diagnosis. For some reason, I didn't feel nearly as bad on it as I had with the other two. I was allowed to eat whatever I wanted and surely that helped. Also, I wasn't as sick as I was the second time, so maybe that was a factor?

Wanted to share that in case any of you are dreading the mag dose. I have NO idea why it didn't bother me so much this last time. But it was the same dose, so who knows? Either way, I'm thankful for not feeling like total garbage (though, I didn't feel GREAT, I just didn't feel like trash).
