Anny,

My doctor has been monitoring it at my bi-weekly and weekly visits (along with protein in my urine) since the beginning, but to make myself feel better I started monitoring at home once I reached my second trimester. It's not something I obsessed about, just something I'd do every once in a while since my pre-e with my daughter developed so suddenly. Until I reached the last two months of pregnancy my pressures never even approached borderline.

Now that I'm late in my pregnancy again, I've started to have borderline and hypertensive pressures again. With that in mind- and the hospital's decision not to induce me yet- I've started taking my pressures a few times a day. My thoughts are that having an awareness and an idea of what is normal for you can only be helpful, not harmful.

Blessings,
Mary

Hi Anny,

Congratulations on your pregnancy, I totally understand feeling scared. Pregnancy after pre-eclampsia can be a nerve wracking experience!

My team had me start right away so that we had a baseline if anything changed. I also did a 24 hour catch for the same reason.

Keep posted when you can,
Lauren

Hello Ladies,

Quick question. How many weeks were you into your pregnancy when you started BP monitoring ? I just found out im pregnant again after having eclampsia at 25 weeks. Im starting my 4th week from today and have took my first dose of 80mg aspirin. Needles to say im well scared.

Regards

Anny
