Mada, what was the factor that finially made them take Sam?

I also wonder with my platelets dropping...will she induce, which can take days..all the while my platelets will be dropping more...or will she do a section before they drop more?!?!?!

Gosh, I am such a worry wart! lol

Hi Sherry,
I know how frustrated you are. Towards the end with sam, I kept going in for blood work, urine test,Nst's and every time we thought this owuld be the day and they would send me home!! I had enough!! But, when the day came when I finally heard, "how would you guys like to go and have a baby today?" I freaked!! So, hang in there...BTW, the day I went for induction, my bp was 118/80!! It was the lowest it had been in weeks!! So, yes bp's all over the place!!!

*also, a sidenote, I have tried about a zillion carriers and the one we LOVED was the kangaroo pouch (fleece) at www.kangarookorner.com it is great and easy to wash etc.
since Bella was a shrimp we used it forvever.

I cannot wait to hear all of the wonderful news!!!(because everything is gonna be great!)

Oh Geesh, where to begin?!?!

Went in for my NST. Baby did great! I had a horrible headache. My usual nurse came into check on me. I told her and she told me that I had a +1 protein. She took my BP, 160/100. They sent me over to the hospital, naturally! UGGHHH! Of course I get there and my BP is good and NO protein in urine. PIH labs came back good, again! My OB came in and asked what the deal was with me? lol She let me go home...after one more reading. It was 137/97. At that time, she said I could go home only if I promised to go home and lay on my left side. I assured her that I would. Right after I post this! :) I asked again for a 'game plan' she said and I quote..."well, we got you to 34 weeks, our goal! If all your labs keep coming back good along with your BP's, we will keep checking your cervix for favorable induction" While it was frustrating, it makes me feel better about our little munchkin growing! Umm....I already washed those preemie outfits, I am afraid we wont need them now! lol I go back Wed...I assume everyday will be one of those "have your bag packed just in case" appointments!

Anyone had BP's fluctuate sooooo much? I was laying in a recliner at the hospital and got 133/73 and then 137/97 all within a half hour! Whats up with that???? Nothing changed as far as stress level, position, etc, etc...

Catherine, I have not told her about not being able to tolerate the extra mgs. I go in today to see her. I will be sure to let her know today! My BP's are really no different than before. I think in all honesty, the labetalol has just pooped out on my body! I am getting some high readings...160/95, but then some better one, like 130/82. Thanks so much for that site Catherine! Yes, it makes me feel a little more at ease at the inevitable!~ Until I read a preemie horror story!

I am having contractions after I have walked up the stairs at home here. SO, I have limited those stairs quite a bit. Anyone else have an irritable uterus like this? I am already dialated to a 1.

I go at 3pm to the OB. It usually takes awhile for the NST...then she MAY send me over for blood work and/or induction. I am not sure. But I will post something as soon as I am home!!

Sherry...Have you told your doctor about not taking the increased BP meds? How are your BP's running without them?

I just wanted to give you a link to a chart that shows outcomes for premature infants by gestation. And, it should be reassuring that it only goes to "30+" weeks. (Also, read the little comments at the bottom) It was so great when we thought I'd be delivering early to watch from one week to the next and see the ammount of expected improvement. And, once I got up where you are, I felt great about a good outcome...even if it did require a bit of a NICU stay.

Along with what you have done already to get ready, I strongly suggest a front pack carrier. Preemies are supposed to do really well and grow quicker if held against your heart as much as possible. I had Lucy in the front pack constantly! She seemed to be very comfortable, warm and cozy, like she was still finishing gestation in the womb. It sounds a little goofy, but there is a whole book written on the subject, I think it is called "Kangaroo Care". Most of it is aimed toward way more premature infants than yours will be, but it is still a great book. Good luck and take care!

I meant to tell you earlier,Wal Mart has a suprisingly large amount of preemie stuff. My mom cleaned them out last time. I was there the other day and saw a bunch on clearence.(baby gap did too- you may be able to get that CHEAP-CHEAP online without having to go out when you feel crummy.
