I'm so sorry you are having such a rough winter already!! My "baby" who is almost 2 now was barely a preemie & she's had a rough year with illness. She just finished a 10 day course of Rx for sinus infection & this was only a month after she did a total of 30 days for sinus/URI/brochiolitis. During that 30 days of Rx antibiotics we also had to do neb meds every 4 hours for at least a week & then a few weeks of neb. meds several times a day. Everyone's sleep was messed up with that albuterol that hyped her so bad!!

She had URI/bronchiolitis back in Feb. too & sinus infection last Christmas & last Jan. I was really hoping being bigger (finally over 20 lbs. now) & a year older would make a difference but this fall/winter seems to be a repeat of last year. So we'll just have to vent here & support each other & hope *eventually* they all outgrow it!! (((HUGS)))

Vent away, Jessa. I'm so sorry he's having a rough winter. My 29-weeker has similar problems--he was hospitalized 3 times last spring with URIs. He's now on his 3rd round of bronchiolitis since the beginning of October. I continually tell myself that if this is the worst residual effect of his prematurity, I'll take it. I'm sure you feel the same way, but someho that doesn't make it any less frustrating! I'm starting to feel the overwhelming urge to put him in a bubble (which makes me think of Seinfeld, and then I start giggling).

Like you said, we forge on...and cross our fingers that they grow out of it.

My little guy is having a rough winter so far. We are currently battling 2 viral infections (URI and HFMV), 1 bacterial(ear infection) and 1 fungal(Candida rash) all at the same time. He seems to be doing well for it all, but it sure is taking a toll on us. He has no diagnosed long term effects of prematurity, but his immune system is certainly slow to fight this stuff off. We spend so much time in doc offices, therapy etc. and have only had about 2 weeks illness free all winter. Just the other day I started to put away all the medicine syringes and various instruments thinking we had turned a corner, only to pull it all out again tonight. Oh well, we forge on. Just needed to vent a little.
