I just had big tonsils. When I'd get strep or tonsillitis they'd nearly swell my throat shut (according to my mom). I finally had them out when I was 12.

Hello. Does she snore tremendously? is she a mouth breather? The twins had their tonsils and adenoids out at age 5 but it had to do with sleeping issues. The quantity of food they ate also went way up which was great since they were always small. I don't know if the reason was prematurity but it's a good thing to have checked out! They now sleep quietly and much better! Good luck

It's not necessarily a preemie thing. She may just havenone enlared due to past infection. Good to get it looked at, whether it is causing her choking or not. Sounds lien she just a little too muh in her mouth. Let us know what the pedi says!

Hello ladies, got another question for you preemie parents :0>

DH & I noticed Gabrielle's toncil is enlarged. She isn't ill and doing well :knock on wood: but she has problems every now and than with swallowing. We gave her a small piece of apple the other day and she put another piece in mouth and she started to choke. Before I had a chance to rip off her tray she made herself vomit it back up. She did this one other time too. Have your preemies had swollen toncil or toncils (sorry about my spelling). I am did make a appointment with her pedi in regards to this because DH & I are worried this will effect her in the long run.
