Same here. Michael is supposed to have pulmicourt 2x a day but in all honesty as his mother I don't do it. Why treat him for something he doesn't need every day. When he starts to get a cough, runny nose, etc we kick it in again but IMO he doesn't have daily asthma, but at 17 mos it's harder to give a treatment so I just let him help.

We never had luck doing nebs while she slept - turning it on always woke her up. We did it for about 2 months at 19-20 months & again a couple months ago at just past 2. Watching a movie is what we did. We also had her infant car seat that we strapped her into (she slept it it usually anyway so it was a comfort thing for her).

Good luck - it's so hard when they fight what you know you have to give them - and give them again in 3-4 hours...repeat!

Alexander was a little older when we had to give him months of neb treatments, but some of the things that worked best for us (other than the "hold it to his face while he cries" method) were toys only to use during treatments and turning on the TV during the treatments. If you'll be doing it for the long-term, we were able to do inhalers with a spacer when Alexander was about 2. Hopefully you won't have to do it daily for too much longer with summer coming...

Our mask covers his mouth and nose. Not sure if a sucker would work here. Hmmmm.... He won't fall asleep in our arms. Thinking about moving the neb upstairs to his bedroom. Then, have it on while he sleeps. But, that could also wake up Noah. :-(

Do you hold him to fall asleep? We used to do it then. I'd let him get asleep and then do it. The other thing that worked, i'm ashamed to admit, was a sucker. He could only have the sucker during the treatment.
Neb treatments are tough on toddlers.

We've been giving Adam his Pulmicort via nebulizer for 3ish months now. He's been great about it until recently. Adam will fight us, screaming and ducking all over the place.

We've tried puppets, singing, and computer stuff, but nothing works for longer than a minute due to attention span at this age.

Anyone have anything that works for longer than a minute?
