Can you let me know how the visit with the speech therapist went? I am having trouble getting my 30 weeker (currently 3 weeks corrected) to finish a bottle. She only needs about 2 oz a feed, but this sometimes takes an hour. I am experimenting with different nipples, but I'm considering asking for a referral to a speech therapist. I love to hear about your experience!

Sorry we missed your question! I'm also sorry that I don't know anything about getting a preemie to take a bottle or pacifier, I hope the speech therapist has some great ideas! We used to have a member who was a lactation consultant and had worked with preemies, I'll try to find her and see if she has any ideas. Good luck to you and Kalynn! My little grl Kalynn was born at 26 weeks.. She came home from the NICU on a feeding tube and is still on one, I'am trying to offer her the paci and bottle but she does not seemed interested..She goes to a speech therpist on Aug 1 for her sucking.. Is there any advice or tricks someone can give me for her to try to tkae the bottle? Thanks!!
