First, everyone grab a hankie [;)]...ready?
So, quick back-story: My mom gifted me her frequent flyer miles so I can attend the Meeting. She also cancelled her reservation for the same time at the annual Precious Metal Clay conference in the southwest (she's an artist), so she could watch the boys for me. I felt badly about that, but she determined that the PF is much more important. Anyway, we found out after we made my reservations that she cancelled her conference reservation 4 days too late and would only receive half her money back.
The next week, she was speaking with the woman who handled hotel & incidental reservations for the PMC conference to cancel those as well, and this woman asked if she was cancelling for health reasons. Mom explained about my pregnancies & the Foundation, and the woman said, "I'm a retired NICU nurse, there's no need to explain any further!" Two days later, my mom received an e-mail from the head of the conference, saying that she'd had a conversation with the reservation lady, and that she couldn't keep Mom's deposit. She refunded it 100%.
Of course, Mom was a wreck when she got it! I think it's an awesome story. [:D] I love seeing the good in people.
So, THANK YOU PMC Convention for supporting the PF!
