Postpartum Practices in the US: are they too trying?

This Daily Beast article (http://www.thedailybeast.com/witw/articles/2013/08/15/america-s-postpartum-practices.html) raises some great questions. Are the US's postpartum practices too trying on new moms? Our Foundation has a growing mission to emphasize the need for monitoring and care for hypertensive moms postpartum for physical AND emotional needs. What did you think of your postpartum experience? What would you have done the same or differently?
