I delivered my daughter 12/29/01 at 25 weeks due to HELLP and was diagnosed with breast cancer 5/02. Deep down I always believed there was a correlation but all the doctors said no. I know that this still does not prove that my breast cancer was a result of premature delivery but it does make me wonder.

I think its important to note the distintion between those who deliver prematurely due to preeclampsia vs. preterm labor. Lots of things are attributed to premature birth - for the mother and research on preemies - when they really mean those who have gone through preterm labor (which includes, apparently, lots and lots of hormonal changes). This article is great because it actually lists preeclampsia separate. Wish others have as well...
