Even if you don't end up trying again, but you can definitely see an MFM for consultation, just as a second opinion. During the last 1.6 years I have seen many doctors and have come to realize that not all have the best "bed side manners", some are better in patient communication than others.

We have not been able to talk to a doctor. My husband wont budge. Hes just going off what the doc. from syracuse told us. No the doc didnt really explain himself, and I was not in the right state of mind to ask question because I was out of it for about 4 days. I do agree that a good check up is what needs to be done. The only blood problem that I have that I know of is rh- and I inherited that from my mother.Thanks for the information will definately take it into consideration.Thanks

I am sorry to hear your story of your second pregnancy, it sounds scary! Glad all went well in the end.

Has your doctor talked to you and your husband and explained in more detail why he thought that another pregnancy would lead to such tragic consequences? If not, I'd go and find another doctor (preferably a MFM) for a consultation and see what s/he has to say about your case and another pregnancy. If underlying disorders were not tested back then, you might want to have these done as well. A good check-up of your general health is probably a good idea too, so a doctor has all necessary information about your past PE history and current health status.

My first pregnancy went as expected. The second not so good. Ended up getting preeclampsia and that led to eclampsia and from there toxemia and my blood pressure got so high that I ended up having a cesure. But in my eyes that wouldn't have happened if the interns would have listened to me. Kept telling me that the pain in my chest and the vision loss...and major headache wasn't nothing and made me wait about an hour and a half before they actually sent the doctor in. By that time they shipped me to the maternity floor and all I remember is getting on the bed and I was gone. Thank god for my husband hitting the emergency button or I don't think that I would be alive today. To make a long story short my doctor told me that if I tried for another that I or the baby would die if this happened again. My husband is extremely scared to try for another because of the doctor saying this but whose to say this will happen again? And if it does I think that they would watch me closer due to my history. Just wonder if there are any mothers that actually made the courageous attempt to have a third after preec. with their second. Just need some reassurance for my husband that maybe it is ok to try for another..but would have to consult a doc. first I think.
