Hi Sarah and congratulations on your new baby. Your due date is so close and I am so happy you are HELLP free. So, I found out I may have a clotting disorder and will have to take Lovenox injections with the next pregnancy. I actually feel relieved there is a possible explanation for why this happened to us and a way to prevent it next time. Still not pregnant yet, but hopefully soon . . .

Hi,

Just wanted to mention that I just finished participating in the research study you are talking about. I hope that the info they got from me helped! It was also fun to go to Vermont for the first time and explore!

I'm now 34 weeks into my 2nd pregnancy after having HELLP almost 7 years ago and ending up in acute kidney failure at that time. I too have chronic hypertension (though it is controlled on a very low dose of BP meds now) and chronic kidney disease. I got the ok after allowing my kidneys to recover as much as possible and getting the creatinine below 2.0 (normal is below 1.0). So far this pregnancy has been completely normal and my BP and kidneys are stable. My BP has stayed below 120/80 for the last few months. I'm being monitored very closely with several ultrasounds and NSTs and blood testing.

Best wishes in your TTC efforts! It took us awhile, but it was most likely due to my age.

Sarah

I truly feel less alone after having visited this board for a few months. Best of luck to you and your next pregnancy. Here's to hoping everything will go as smoothly as possible.

Btw, there is also an ongoing preeclampsia research study for women who plan to conceive again if you are inclined to participate in research. I found it on this board and plan to participate in the upcoming months.

I am sorry for the loss of your sweet Nia. What a beautiful name! Thanks for sharing the study information, going to look for it now

It takes a lot of courage to TTC after HELLP or PE. We are here to hold your hand and accompany you on your journey.

I deleted the other post, as it messes with the search function. Good luck and let us know how it goes :D

TTC after HELLP (Cross-post)

Sorry for the cross-post. I think I posted this in the wrong place the first time.

Hi everyone! I have a 2 year old daughter who was born at 28.5 weeks after I developed severe HELLP. After a c-section under general anesthesia and 8 weeks of NICU time, we are both doing well today. I now have chronic hypertension and take medicine for that.

I have always wanted to try for another baby. At first, my husband and I were too scared. I did a pre-conception appointment last year with the peri and he gave me the green light to try again. So now, we are both on the same page, getting ready TTC.

I am so nervous, but hopeful the second time is pre-e and HELLP free. I will be reading everyone's stories, looking for encouragement, offering support and trying to get mentally ready for this!
