Preeclampsia Awareness Event


When: Tuesday, January 30, 2007

Where: Davenport, Iowa - The Adler Education Center, located in the lower level of the Genesis Heart Institute, 1236 East Rusholme Street.

Time: 7:00pm

Speakers will be Lauren Ward Larsen and Stephen K. Hunter, M.D., Ph.D.

Lauren, a national blood donation advocate, recently chaired the Foundation's annual fundraiser, Saving Grace, in San Francisco. Lauren and her daughter are preeclampsia survivors.

Dr. Hunter, from the Univeristy of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, is an Associate Professor in the department of Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Dave Green, CEO of the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, will also speak briefly. Mr. Green's daughter experienced preeclampsia in 2006.

This will be a CEU credited event.

Hosts for the event will be Dan and Kelly Burich. Dan recently ended his 15 year tenure as Sports Director at WQAD News Channel 8, and is currently furthering his education in sports medicine. His wife Kelly is a pharmaceutical rep, and experienced preeclampsia/HELLP during her pregnancy in 2005.
