Okay everyone....it's time to put these great ideas together in a way that can be created on the fabric. If we start with an outline of the state of PA with the plan of adding symbols that represent PE cases (survivors or angels lost)we can build from there.

It's important that a list get started (not necessarily here) of those who want to be recognized so we can plan out spacing, size of symbols, and how much detail we want/can put on the square. I can make up a draft on paper - before putting anything on the fabric square - so you can all add more input.

*** please contact me directly with first name of baby/woman to be included, possibly along with date or stat related to case, and a location or region you live in. Anyone living in PA with a PE experience is welcome to do this.

Maybe if there was space, we could include state stats related to PE.

I love the idea (although I am a little partial). I would be thrilled if Elliott would be included since I am not going to do a new square for this year's quilt. Dawn, let me know if you need any help, or additional fabric.

I think this is a great idea! We could use actual angel shapes to represent those that lost their lives and use the hearts or butterflys for those who have survived.

glad you guys are "in".... and that's a GREAT idea jsu! to take that a bit further maybe we could outline the shape of PA and maybe use one color heart or butterfly for those affected (but survived), and another color for angels lost.?

How about making a map of PA with little hearts and butterflies to symbolize the location of those who lost their lives in their experience of Pre-e?

Just saw this. I think it's a great idea!

How about if we work together to be a part of the national quilt project?
It would be an opportunity to have several PE experiences recognized through the creation of a "Pennsylvania Quilt Square". Maybe other state groups will follow our lead?!

Of course anyone is still free to contact Rosemary and make their own individual fabric square!
But for this "group fabric square" idea, I/we would think through a design that would accommodate everyone interested in honoring/remembering a PE baby or mother from our area of the country. Could probably include first name, a birth stat and/or dates. Maybe also a short message (ex: Forever in our hearts, our sweet angel, or other) **your creative ideas are welcome!

I created a square for last year's quilt and Molly did too. Rosemary (the quilter who coordinates this project) is also from PA. We all know the comfort and good that comes from being a part of something like this! If you think you want to be a part of this Pennsylvania group square idea, email me (by June 22nd) so we can stay in touch as the idea comes together.
