A BIG Thank you to you for organizing the golf outing!

EVENT RESULTS:

We had a nice event despite the much lower turn-out compared to last year. A handful of teams enjoyed the weather and top rated course. The golfers were joined by additional guests who attended the lunch and program following the scramble. Free blood pressure screenings were also available.

Too bad no one won the hole-in-one car or golf vacation prizes ;-( ** my daughter was cheering for Daddy to sink the ball and win the "pretty car" LOL**
but we generated some valuable funding for PF and informed many about the disorder, including the golf course staff who were touched by the cause and our purpose.

SPECIAL THANK YOUS TO:

-- Tom, our Exec Dir, for participating and speaking to group about current research and grants, stats, and PF's role in providing support and education.

-- Jen and Nick Frasca who told their story of loss and shared their hopeful news! Jen, you did a great job speaking and informing others. Nick, thanks to your golf team for participating.

-- Heather Moore (PE survivor) and daughter Chloe who attended and donated to support PF in memory of son Conner.

-- the local businesses who provided AWESOME goody bag items and gift prizes! They truly enhanced our event with combined values of over $1500 !

-- To PF members who donated funds and/or prize items (John and Brenda Warner, Heather and Jason Moore, Jen and Nick Frasca, and Kelly Licari)!

I know we generated over $3100, but some expenses still have to be calculated out of that. All in all, we do have a (+) amount to donate to PF as a result of holding the event. And, I'm happy knowing that's still valuable toward PF's mission! :-)

Donations are still needed to enhance our raffle. Are you able to donate $25-50 toward a gift certificate that we can obtain locally-- or - can you send an item to be raffled (theme basket, gift, service, franchise certificate, etc)? Our raffle is a key part of the income we generate at this event - and it's fun too!


Now collecting for the tribute signs! This is something anyone affected by PE/HELLP can be a part of.

During play on September 29th, special signs will appear on various golf holes, acknowledging those who have been affected by preeclampsia and related disorders.
These 12x18 inch signs will stand as a tender reminder to the participants of why this fundraiser is being held. Printed on the signs can be a name, a birth stat, dates, a thank you line, or other creative message you come up with.
Some ideas are as follows:
In memory / in honor of a baby or woman lost to or surviving preeclampsia
With thanks to supportive family and friends
In gratitude for hospital/NICU Staff
In gratitude for doctor/med student for their PE research
Thank you to PF volunteer who has given time to PF
In thanks for those golfing for our charity

This signage project is designed to enhance our fundraising efforts therefore a suggested donation of $15 (or a free-will donation of any amount) is greatly appreciated!Please submit by September 10, 2008. Anyone wishing to have a loved one remembered / honored at the event without donation can contact me for info about another option to this project.



Golfers still needed. Please consider if you, a co-worker, or friend can join in and play one last round of golf this season for charity!


Volunteer help is still needed to gather more sponsorships and goody bag fillers.
