My liver enzymes have gone up and down since i had my daughter in July of 09, i also have been in and out of the ER and Hospital with no explanation ( i know that is not good news)... At the end of August / begining of September I finally went to U of ** because i was in sooo much pain and could not eat a thing. When i went in my liver enzymes were up. While i was there they did an ERCP, removed a stone ( that could have been left there since the removal of my gallbladder in aug or 09), and they put a slit in my sphinkter (sp?). When i left my numbers were down, almost back to normal. I dont believe i have ever been givin an explanation on why they go up and down....I have been feeling very good since all of that, but have not gotten any labs done so dont know what my numbers look like!

I was 12 months PP before my liver numbers went back to normal. My PCP just took my blood every couple months to check them he said if they didn't keep going down they would have to run more tests. It may be best if she saw her regular Dr and have them refer her to a specialist.

I think that she's far enough away from her preeclampsia/HELLP experience that her elevated liver enzymes can't be a direct result of it, especially if they went back down after she was sick. I think it does warrant serious followup though. Has she asked her OB for some advice re: an appropriate referral? We often say that preeclampsia can be an early warning sign for something else, e.g. autoimmune disease. I know that GI specialists are the ones who handle liver issues, has she been evaluated by one?

Kata's LE are up AGAIN to 600 and 300. This is the highest they have been since right after she had Lille. They were elevate in October, but they went down with really no explanation. Can something be laying dormant that we are overlooking?
