It sounds like your daughter has been through so much I also had preeclapsia in 2004 (November) My daughter was born early and passed away. Since they I found out I have Crohn's and my ANA is high, so I may have another autoimmune problem that just has not been discovered yet.

Hi Shadow - I am sorry to hear about everything your daughter has been through since having her kids. We have posters who have been diagnosed with autoimmune disorders including rheumatoid arthritis, various forms of lupus, and a few other conditions. I can't think of anyone who has a story quite like your daughter's. Sheehan's itself is very rare. I haven't found any peer-reviewed medical information on this combination of conditions, but I did find one blog that discusses vasculitis and Sheehan's here: http://blog.hypogal.com/

Hi all, it's been quite awhile since I posted here. My 1st post about my Daughter's experience was in August 2004. Her I am 8 years later still trying to figure out how it all is related. The bottom line is she has never been her healthy self since her pregnancy in 2004. I don't want to scare anyone but even though most people have a rapid recovery after delivery, some do not. It is for those who do not that I write this. It's been 8 years for my daughter. We thought that the nightmare was over after 2 1/2 years of being on prednisone for severe adrenal insuffiency which was caused by HEELP/Sheehan's. Her adrenal gland started working again and she was able to stop her BP meds and she became pregnant with her 2nd child. It was a relatively uneventful pregnancy and she had a beautiful, healthy baby girl. My Daughter's health was never the same again. She was sick a lot during the year after her 2nd child's birth. 13 months after the birth, my Daughter was critically ill and hospitalized for over a month. After many Specialists and every tests imaginable including a bone marrow biopsy, she has been diagnosed with ANCA Associated Vasculitis, Still's disease, Churg Strauss syndrome, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia & Sweets Syndrome. She has undergone chemo and is on some very serious drugs. Last month she was sent to be evaluated for a lung transplant. We learned this week that she might have to do another round of chemo in 8 weeks. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has been diagnosed with an Autoimmune Disorder after a pregnancy complicated by PE, HEELP or Sheehan's.
