Re: DID CEASING LOVENOX HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH MY HELLP?

MENTS: PG, BABY & ILLNESS Thank you much for your kind and thoughtful reply. I greatly appreciate it. Will check out the link. To say that I have enormous guilt over getting so sick would be an understatement--guilt and a huge sense of inadequacy, of course. Wasn't it bad enough that I needed the he...

DID CEASING LOVENOX HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH MY HELLP?

Please forgive me if I have already asked this question but I'm still hoping to find an answer. My story (which I've shared before, please forgive if this is too repetitive) is that I tried to conceive for ten years, beginning at the age of 35, when my husband and I decided it was finally time to st...

Re: PE Risk in Relation to Maternal Mood & Anxiety

I nearly died of HELLP Syndrome two days after ceasing lovenox injections one week before my medically necessary scheduled C-section and I was not remotely worried about the impending C-section. I was SO HAPPY AND CONFIDENT in my pregnancy (which until then had been laid back, relatively uneventful ...

Re: The cost of PE

I had dual union provided health insurance that paid 100% of the costs of my care and recovery from the stroke that HELLP gave me at my daughter's birth. After HELLP struck with no warning, I needed $11,000 in blood transfusions, a craniotomy and a tracheotomy, 6 weeks on life support, 6 months in h...

Re: Looking to talk to some mums who suffered HELLP syndrome

I'm so sorry for what you endured, Ashleigh. Perhaps looking at photos and hearing from those who were there may help you fill in the gaps of what you missed. I hope that time will ease your pain. In my case I lost three naturally conceived pregnancies (always after two good u/s with a h/b when the ...

CONFUSED ABOUT WHY MY OB FAILED TO NOTICE RISK

I have posted on this forum before but after nearly dying of HELLP Syndrome three years ago I can't stop wondering why my OB failed to notice that I was at high risk for HELLP. I was 44, with three prior pregnancy losses, had tested positive for antiphospholipid antibodies, was on a blood thinner so...

Re: bone loss?

Two years post HELLP Syndrome which did its best to kill me (ruptured my liver and gave me a stroke that put me in a month long coma) I was diagnosed with bone density loss after my GP had a bone density scan done. I don't know if HELLP exacerbated the bone loss but I had been a ten year long vegeta...

Re: IS MY DAUGHTER AT GREATER RISK?

Thanks Blythe. Yes, even if there is a paternal component, not much to be done about that NOW. I assume that as research on HELLP unfolds and more is discovered about risk to offspring those results will be posted here? Glad to hear that if there is a risk it is very small. Thanks for your feedback....

Re: Long term health effects of HELLP on mom?

Since I nearly died of HELLP two and a half years ago I have struggled with cognitive impairment caused by the stroke as well as mysterious, pervasive joint pain (all my major joints). It probably doesn't help that I have suddenly entered menopause. However, I do wonder how much of the discomfort I ...
