Re: I am new and have some questions :)

I'll just join the dog pile here and say please get checked out immediately. I know your doctor is getting labs, and I know you don't want to be THAT pregnant woman (we've all known that pregnant woman), but you're the only one living IN your body. As others have said, the abdominal pain is particul...

Re: When do you start Lovenox?

Jean, I never actually had a c-section. With my HELLP pregnancy they induced me, and with my last 2 pregnancies I had preterm labor and premature rupture of membranes. In my second successful pregnancy, however, they did refuse to give me an epidural, as I'd admistered my last Lovenox injection too ...

Re: When do you start Lovenox?

Jasmin, I'm too lazy to go back and find the thread where you asked for negative outcomes with intervention, but thought I'd share - I developed HELLP Syndrome in my second pregnancy at 19.5 weeks while on therapeutic levels of Lovenox. (I also miscarried at 14 weeks (my first pregnancy) and 6 weeks...

Re: Any long term studies done about use of lda in pregnanc

I haven't posted in a very long time, so forgive me if I'm a little rusty. I lost 3 pregnancies before I finally had a live birth; in the second pregnancy I developed HELLP Syndrome at 19.5 weeks. After my 3 year child-bearing hiatus, I went back to see my perinatologist and we had a frank discussio...

<t>Vent away, Jessa. I'm so sorry he's having a rough winter. My 29-weeker has similar problems--he was hospitalized 3 times last spring with URIs. He's now on his 3rd round of bronchiolitis since the beginning of October. I continually tell myself that if this is the worst residual effect of his pr...

Re : What is the earliest you've heard/had HELLP

<t>I actually just read an article about a woman who developed HELLP at 15 weeks, but that is so incredibly far from the norm (she had an underlying disorder). I started developing symptoms at around 17-18 weeks, was diagnosed at 19 weeks, and delivered at 19.5. So early is certainly possible, thoug...

<t>That's wonderful news, Laura! I always got teary-eyed at that first viability US. It's such a wonderful feeling to hear that heartbeat, and watch it fluttering away.<br/> <br/> The Lovenox isn't a barrel of monkeys at first, but I promise you'll get used to it! Keep us updated on how things are g...

Re : Gall Stones/Pre-e

<t>Jessa asked the exact question I had--did they check your liver function and platelets? A huge number of HELLP cases (mine included) are initially diagnosed as gallbladder issues. That's not to say you can't have gallbladder problems in pregnancy--just that you need to make sure liver problems ar...

Re : Lovenox spotting

<t>I'm glad you're doing well! It can be hard to assert ourselves with medical professionals. I think a lot of us have been conditioned to believe that doctors are the ultimate experts, and we should just go along with whatever they say. The shift in thinking takes a lot of work. Most of us here are...

Re : Lovenox spotting

<t>As far as the Lovenox goes, since the spotting is light brown, you most likely won't have to stop the injections. Your doctor will have final say, of course. I had bleeding early on with both of my boys, and other than an ultrasound and pelvic rest, we didn't change much. The doctor thought it wa...
