Re: Has anyone gotten preeclampsia three times?

I've had it several times. I'm currently in my 8th pregnancy, 6th time with preeclampsia. :( The good news is there is NO reason to think you'll get it again. The bad news is there is NO reason to think you won't. It seems to hit with no rhyme or reason, and (in me, at least) doesn't have a pattern ...

I need to vent

So, I'm pregnant again! Baby #6 is due this winter. :P After the shock wore off, we're excited. Nervous, but excited. I contacted my last medical team from the last state we lived in and got my records faxed to my husband's office. Then, I began the process of enrolling in the OB clinic at this mili...

I am SO darn MAD!

I really like this particular blog thing (no, I'm not techno savvy- lol) that talks about birth. Induction came up and many people are not for it, understandably. So, this one girl asks, well, what if you have preeclampsia. So, I chimed in with the whole if you have PE, you need to have your baby & ...

Re: Hyperemesis?

First, let me just say that being dehydrated AND swollen is just.not.fair!! It's like a double whammy of crap. Okay, I'm done venting. :) The zofran is helping. I wasn't up all night again last night, worshiping the porcelin goddess, so I'm happy with that. I still feel so sick. So, although zofran ...

Hyperemesis?

Although this is my 5th pregnancy, it's the first one I've had morning sickness in. Around 14-15wks, it disappeared. About 3 weeks ago, the nausea returned. :( Last night, it came with a vengeance- I was sick all night long. Has anyone else had hyperemesis set in in the 3rd trimester? I'm 33+4 today...

Re: What would you do?

I guess this is the best place to hop in again and update. :) I can't wait for my next midwife appt. I haven't heard from the re: the creat. clearance and 24hr urine, which is great. No news is always good news with this group. I feel pretty confident since I did a dipstick the same day I turned in ...

Re: Appt. today

Celina, I'm not one to make waves, but I've learned that if you don't stand up for yourself at MTF's, they ignore you. When all else has failed, I've gone to patient advocacy and spoken to a rep. Amazing how the docs and nurses suddenly pay attention to what I"m saying! Honestly, I think that you sh...

Re: What would you do?

Update: I dropped off my 24hr urine this morning and the midwives drew blood for the creat. clearance test. Amazed by the competence of the phlebotomist! One touch of my arm, one stick. Done. I barely felt it. I was amazed and in total awe- I've never been "vampired" so easily. LOL. After my super s...

Re: So a nurse tells me today...

Celina, I don't know your due date, but I'm assuming you're near the finish line. Due to that, I'd say skip the Tricare stuff I mentioned. With pressures like these, I'd go somewhere else than to your MTF. Seriously, do some research on local hospitals to pick out one with maternity care you would f...

Re: What would you do?

Sarah, Thanks for the info. I guess every practice does their own thing. I saw the OB's with the m/w practice last time for the "routine" preggo stuff- like group b strep testing. The peri/his office did everything else. I discussed this with two of the midwives I see, and their reactions were ident...
