Re: Deep breaths...

Being terrified in a subsequent pregnancy is completely understandable! I am currently 27 weeks pregnant, 9 years after my severe pre-e pregnancy with my son. Also same father and no underlying conditions. I was critically ill when I was admitted to the hospital to have my son, and lots of scary thi...

Re: Officially Trying Again

I am 23 weeks pregnant, 9 years after having my son at 36 weeks (he was 4lbs 3oz) due to severe Preeclampsia. I had mild Preeclampsia from 28/29 weeks with him, and was on meds at 32 weeks. To date my pressures are good and I passed my baseline kidney and liver function. The hardest part has been li...

cgellura - glad to hear you are okay, and also that you listened to yourself and not bad advice! Best of luck to you as you recover - glad to hear the mag is working its way out of your system!

Re: PTSD Strategies

Joy, thanks for the reminder not to compare! By magnitude of things that can make you scared, I think my husband has been through much more, but he was better able to process and deal with everything that occurred in his deployments.I wish I knew what the trick to that was! I went to my first appoin...

Re: PTSD Strategies

Thanks for the support, and the strategies. I really need help keeping my mind off of this. I am really dreading telling people and anyone saying "congratulations' because I just don't think it is time for that yet. I would like people to congratulate me when and if there is a positive outcome. I ju...

PTSD Strategies

I previously posted about this under another thread, but does anyone have strategies for dealing PTSD and fear in a second pregnancy? When I have to go to the hospital it sets me off and I cry and shake and am just overwhelmed with fear. When I am not at work I am preoccupied with thoughts of potent...

Re: 29 Weeks, Seeing Spots, Some BP Spikes. Ugh...

Thanks Lauren! Those strategies I'm sure will help. I am going to try to refocus, and am going to post under a new thread on PTSD

Cgellura, I just wanted to echo the last posters comment that I hope you are okay and I am in awe of your courage to face this three times!

Re: 29 Weeks, Seeing Spots, Some BP Spikes. Ugh...

Original poster, I am wondering what strategies you use to stay calm, given that you've experienced this not once, but twice before. I am 14 weeks pregnant after having given birth to my son at 36 weeks due to severe pre-e nearly 9 years ago. With him, I was symptomatic at 28/29 weeks, on meds at 32...
