Re: Preeclampsia Associated W/ Persistent Postpartum Cardiov

I went through HELLP with my son in November of 2010. Prior to my pregnancy I had always had heart palpitations, but I would get them just once in a while. A few months after his birth, after I was off the labetalol and nifedipine I was placed on, my heart palpitations returned, but instead of a few...

Re: Heart issues and HELLP?

Wow...thank you so much for the link. It is so easy to separate the two, but I can see that I shouldn't and that my doctor shouldn't either. I really appreciate the help.

Heart issues and HELLP?

Hi everyone. I haven't posted in a very long time, but I experienced HELLP with my pregnancy back in November of 2010. Since then there have been several tests for autoimmune disorders and other things, all which have come back normal. However, I have had fairly frequent heart palpitations since the...

Re: Recently survived HELLP, baby in NICU

When I asked my doctor about testing for autoimmune disorders, she said that around 2 months was long enough to wait. I guess there are different views on how long to wait. I may do some more research...if testing later is in my best interests I will want to ask them to re-do them.

Re: Wanted to ask again...

My son is home now! He came home New Years Day, so it has been crazy busy in my house, but also so wonderful to be out of the NICU. I would love to see if we could get a Promise Walk together...certainly Birmingham is big enough. Not really sure how to approach doing something like that, but I will ...

Re: First time mom with baby in NICU

Thanks everyone. Your advice helped a great deal. I wanted to post sooner, but we have been to busy lately. Our baby boy came home on New Year's Day! What a wonderful way to start the year. He is now up to 5 pounds 12 ounces and doesn't have any medical issues that we know of resulting from his prem...

Re: Recently survived HELLP, baby in NICU

Hi everyone. Sorry for not updating for so long. I want you all to know how much I appreciate your support and shared stories. It definitely makes it easier knowing that I am not the only one to ever go through this...although I wish no one ever had to. We pretty much spent most of December, Christm...

Re: First time mom with baby in NICU

Thanks for your responses. The hospital only has a few hours during the day when we can't be there, and thats just due to shift changes. They have to be able to talk about all the babies and for us to be there would violate HIPPA. Outside of that, I can be there at 4 am if I want. We are starting to...

First time mom with baby in NICU

Hi everyone. I wanted to introduce myself since I am new to the forums. I gave birth to first baby (baby boy) on Friday November 26th. I was 31 weeks, 6 days. I went to the emergency room that Wednesday morning with severe chest pain and was diagnosed with HELLP. I was fortunate enough to get the ce...

Re: Wanted to ask again...

Hi! I am in the Tuscaloosa area and I gave birth to my son last week at 31 weeks 6 days due to HELLP syndrome. With my baby in the NICU, I find most of my time being spent there and getting things ready for his coming home, but I am very interested in being as active as possible to raise awareness. ...
