Re: Anyone had or having blood pressure problems afterwards?

I had massive spikes about 6 months PP - up to 200/110 from 110/70 being baseline. The first time it happened I was told to call an ambulance for myself because I was so dizzy and apparently incoherent when I called the doc. It then happened monthly and was in sync with my menstrual cycle, so I thin...

Re: BP high with every period, normal in between

Quite possibly it is related to the progesterone... at least that gives me something to suggest to the doctor when I see her to follow up after my visit to emergency. She is the one who was adamant that there cannot possibly be a connection between hormones and BP though, so I'll need luck and some ...

Re: BP high with every period, normal in between

He's still taking 5 or 6 decent milk feeds in 24hrs and is in the middle of a growth spurt... The 'dont use for BFing mothers' clause says particularly not to use while feeding a premie or a newborn after saying not to use at all if breastfeeding. An ACE inhibitor is definitely a likely medication f...

BP high with every period, normal in between

Hi, I ended up in the hospital again yesterday with my BP at 190/100 (right arm) and 143/85 (left arm). Right arm went down to 123/85 and left remained the same, so they discharged me with a script for an ACE inhibitor I can't take when breastfeeding despite confirming that I'm breastfeeding three t...

Re: BP high after first PP period

Well, I've done the blood tests and the renal ultrasound (checked my liver too). Started BP charts yesterday after I got a BP machine and they're high (140/90 range) but not as scary as it was when I was in ICU. Curiously, they are lower immediately after I breastfeed my son. The headache seems to b...

The story of the birth of my son

I had excessive weight gain, headache, swelling, etc. which being in my third trimester at the height of summer I thought was more related to summer and pregnancy than anything going wrong. My BP was always 110/60 in my 3rd trimester, having been 90/60 during the early part of the pregnancy. Early S...

BP high after first PP period

Hi, I was back to normal physically about a month PP. Now at 4.5 months PP, I've had high BP for the last 2 weeks (finally decided to get out of denial and get it checked 2 days ago), coincidentally starting around the time of my first PP period. I'm back to pin cushion status while we figure out wh...

Re: HELLP at 40+1... no pre-e diagnosis before then

Thanks tree :) Glad there's some light at the end of the tunnel. I'm starting to think I could have another child if I was under the care of the OB who caught it within hours of hearing about me (before he even met me) and the monitoring plan was really rigourous. I would have to move, but I really ...

Re: HELLP at 40+1... no pre-e diagnosis before then

Ahhh... I read your story while I was browsing :) I relate to not knowing when it started but pretty sure mine started around 30 weeks when I had a constant stitch, only on my right side. That developed into thinking my little man was kicking me in the ribs every time I sat down... I then attributed...

Re: Australians, where are you?

Hi Ladies, Nice to see some Aussies here (not that its nice that any of us have had occasion to seek out this forum). I'm living in north QLD but delivered my little miracle in Toowoomba 4 months ago. Thank goodness I was there staying with family from 36 weeks onwards 'just in case' (not relying on...
