Re: post partum bp
I am almost 6 month PP and I still have high BPs despite being on 1700 mg of labetalol. I see my GP on Monday and I am ready to switch meds. I want to try another breastfeeding safe med before I go on an ACE inhibitor, but once you have had severe pre-e you are just so much more likely to develop ch...

4 months pp
HI everyone, I had my daughter at 35w 2 d due to what my docs called "severe preeclampsia". My bloodwork never reflected this, but my last 24 hr urine showed a level of 367 combined with severe clonus, hyperreflexia and high BPs despite being on high doses of labetalol. All along I was told that I w...

Re: Update on me and Aeryn
Hopefully it works. I had similar pressures as you, and in the end I was on 600 mg three times a day, you can go up to 2400 mg per day if need be, and if your other tests remain stable. Good luck! *hugs*

Re: BP still spiking 9 days post-partum... Questions
Please call in! Same thing happened to me, I delivered due to severe pre-e and we thought I was out of the woods after the birth since my BP was close to normal. 6 days PP my BP skyrocketed to 208/110 and I ended up back in L&D. I am 14 weeks PP and I am still on a very high dose of labetalol but I ...

Re: Preeclampsia v Postpartum Preeclampsia
I have had both with my last pregnancy and I think postpartum can be worse IF a woman is not checked properly. I was lucky enough to have good care, so when my BP shot up to 208/110 my doctors reacted immediately and were on top off things. But if I had disregarded their request to continue monitori...

Re: Bedrest and Pre-e?
I was on bedrest for 1 week with my first, delivered at 36w 4d. With my 2nd I wasn't on bedrest but was on BP meds at 31 weeks and delivered at 38w 2 d. With my 3rd I was on modified bedrest starting at 26 weeks and strict bedrest at 31 weeks. I delivered at 35 w 3 d. The first 2 times I had mild pr...

Re: Should I be worried ?
I think it depends. I had labile blood pressures for a while, which is why I was put on bedrest. Once I was on bedrest and medicated my bp wasn't fluctuating as much anymore. It wasn't until after I delivered that it became labile again. So you could say that this has been going on for 13 weeks on a...

Re: Unmedicated birth still possible? PLEASE READ!!
I felt exactly like you. I was determined to have my last birth be unmedicated. I ended up on bedrest for 9 weeks and was induced with pitocin at 35 weeks. Right from the get-go I was warned not to expect a quick birth, I was induced with my first 2 and labors were 5.5 hours total with 3 pushes each...

Re: Should I be worried ?
I was put on BP meds once I was in the 150s/high 90s range. I was also put on bedrest once this happened. I wasn't officially preeclamptic until I was induced, but I went from PIH to severe PIH to severe preeclampsia, postpartum preeclampsia and severe postpartum hypertension within less than a mont...
