Re: Pre-PreEclamsia? Any Advice is appreciated

220 seems a bit high to me, considering the threshold is 300. My doctors blew me off as well. He never even told me what my labs were until I finally asked him what my 24 hr test that had been ordered by the doctor on call TWO WEEKS before was. And even then he had to look it up. And I never knew th...

Developmental Delays

I was wondering if there is any association between pre-e and developmental delays in infants born at term. I never had any problems with my first, but I developed pre-e late in my pregnancy and delivered at 40 weeks. With my second I began experiencing symptoms around 28 weeks. My Dr did not want t...

Re: Early Onset Pre-e on 2nd, late onset on 1st. What next?

So sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how that feels. I had very slow progressing PE and the doctors didn't even catch it with my first. I began developing symptons around week 36 and delivered at 40, but with my second I started developing symptoms MUCH earlier (maybe around 28-30 weeks) and I th...

Re: Wife 28 weeks....

BTW I went from being normal in the doc's office the day before to into the 200's that night. Don't know what any of my other numbers were. They didn't test me for pre-e because my bp wasn't high.

Re: Wife 28 weeks....

With my first one I never had any high bp readings until I went into labor at 40 weeks, although looking back I had all the signs and symptoms well beforehand.

Re: Ranting here! This is going to sound crazy

Doesn't sound crazy to me. I couldn't stand even the most well-meaning words of comfort at the end of my last pregnancy. Mostly because my friends and family didn't go through what I went through and they had no idea what I was feeling like. Everyone seemed to think I just had normal pregnancy ailme...

Re: Weight Loss Buddies - Fall 2012

I need some weight loss buddies. I gained 60 lbs this pregnancy (despite busting my hump in the gym all the way up until my third trimester) as opposed to 30 with my first. I went from about 150 to 210. I was down 18 lbs at my two week checkup but I'm still really swollen and can't wear my rings or ...

Re: So aggrivated!!!

You have to keep at it. They were really tired of seeing my face at the hospital by the time my doctor induced me. They kept saying I was "fine" but when I asked him specifically about a 24 hr urine I did at 35 weeks he had to admit the protein was too high. That was two weeks later. I don't think h...

Baby Rachel is here!

Thank you everyone for the support! I'm pleased to announce that at 11:22 this am, after 36 hours of "labor" my baby girl was delivered via c-section. BP tried to get out of control on me just once right before surgery (probably anxiety) but went right back down afterwards. :)

Re: Bad Headaches in early 2nd Trimester

I had some pretty nasty headaches early in my second trimester that sent me to the ER begging for relief. Fluids and painkillers did the trick. I did develop "the headache" and PE in this pregnancy but it wasn't diagnosed until 35 weeks as mild. I'm also a chronic but whenever I went in for headache...
