Re: Anyone have a baby with kidney disease or other problems

I'm so sorry you lost your first baby, and that you are now having kidney problems. My mother never had preeclampsia, but she did have kidney disease while pregnant (she has primary hyperoxaluria, which causes excess oxalates in her blood that form stones in the kidneys. She lost one of her kidneys ...

Baby is here!

Hi Everyone! I delivered my baby boy Donovan Maxwell on Thursday at 9:01 am. He was 7 lb 11 oz and 20.7 inches long. This experience was so completely different from the last, from the start of the pregnancy to delivery. My blood pressure stayed down enough without meds for me to make it to my sched...

Re: being vigilant helps...right?

It has helped me a lot, I think. At the very least it has given me something to do (checking my pressures, getting NSTs and AFIs, etc.) so I don't feel completely helpless. I really think that has helped me keep my stress levels lowered. I was lucky last time that my PE was caught at my monthly exam...

Re: High blood pressure and BP medication.Need help! I am sc

Diastolic blood pressure in the 100-105 range is quite high. I'm not a doctor, so I really don't know for sure that they should be keeping you in for observation, but if I had home readings at those levels and my doctor's office wasn't monitoring me I would go into labor and delivery and have them m...

Re: High blood pressure and BP medication.Need help! I am sc

Hi Corinne, I am very surprised that your doctor has not been more proactive about your rising blood pressure. Have you been monitoring your blood pressure at home? My blood pressure is usually higher in the doctor's office so my doctor goes by my home readings, which are consistently in an OK range...

Re: Did you get more than one opinion before TTC again?

I felt like this MFM was very competent in treating my physical needs, but I feel like this time around I need someone who will also treat my emotional needs. I will need constant assurance that everything possible is being checked. I'm going to be a nervous wreck! I think it's really important to ...

Re: Drawing blood and preeclampsia

Yes, this happens to me! Nurses sometimes have a hard time finding my veins anyway, depending on their experience level (phlebotomists at the blood bank tend to be the best because they do it nonstop all day), but it seems to be worse when my blood pressure is high. I have just gotten used to being ...
